i've learned to become completely immune to failure. when i do "fail" i'll just get back up completely unphased and start again. i dont think most people realize you have to do this again and again and again and again and again after that. remain stoic. become a student. reflect and learn from what went wrong, know how you'll pivot and get back up and do it again. your chance of success will 10x no matter your venture.
If you have ADHD, learn about limerence.
It is an intense, involuntary fixation on someone that can feel exactly like extraordinary love. You think about them constantly, crave their reciprocation, and gradually begin organising your emotional world around their presence.
bigger idiots than you have done it. seriously. a lot of the things you think require extraordinary talent, intelligence or perfect timing were done by people who were just stubborn enough to keep going when it would’ve been easier to quit. you don’t need to be the smartest person in the room. you don’t need to know exactly what you’re doing. you don’t even need to feel confident. sometimes you just need to be too stupid to give up. keep learning. keep failing. keep adjusting. keep showing up. because the person who refuses to quit eventually becomes the person who looks like they always knew what they were doing. sometimes being too stupid to quit is all it takes.
Honestly, this is real. Before I knew I had ADHD, when I was unemployed and lacked a schedule of any kind, it manifested as BAD depression. We fight it but ADHD havers DO need schedule and routine else we flounder and feel lost. I'd be a mess without my job, I just know it.
I hope you do something with all that fire in your chest. there is so much of yourself you haven’t even had the chance to discover yet. things you could make, places you could go, ways you could surprise yourself that you can’t even imagine right now - and maybe none of it works out the way you pictured. maybe you spend years chasing something and end up somewhere completely different. but at least you were in there, getting your hands dirty, making a life instead of watching one pass by.
There is so much abundance. Beautiful ppl to encounter. Beautiful places to go. Beautiful experiences waiting to find you. Money to be made. Love to be held by. Doors you do not even know exist yet. Be mindful of consuming content rooted in scarcity, disappointment + limitation.
& IF you ever get better, IF one day you snap out of it, nobody ever warned you ab the grief. Nobody warned you ab mourning yourself 'before' all the missed opportunities, mourning all the "what could've been"
If you're not careful, you fall into relapse. It's a vicious cycle
i feel like if i were a pidw fan and the author AND his biggest hater disappeared i would just Assume that they ran away together to get married or fight to the death
no one talks about how draining it is when your mood switches between “keep going , it will get better” and “i can’t do this anymore, im about to give up.” its like living in emotional whiplash. one hour you’re hopeful, the next you’re spiraling
seeing your age group having the best time of their lives while you’re at your lowest trying to figures things out - is another type of pain no one talks about.
