Albanians and Hungarians both know what the grave weight of the communist rule means, and therefore, we both know how precious real freedom is. @rajmundfekete
23 years ago today @terrorhaza opened as a monument to the memory of those held captive, tortured and killed in this building.
The museum, while presenting the horrors in a tangible way, also intends to make people understand that the sacrifice for freedom was not in vain.
Ultimately, the fight against the two cruellest systems of the 20th century ended with the victory of the forces of freedom and independence.
It is not my intention to provoke, but to raise questions and make others wonder. To refuse accepting the simple answer that is being pushed down our throats!
Full house book launch in the @terrorhaza
It was my absolute honour to receive the Saint Adalbert Prize in Prague on the 25th of October.
The patron of the 3rd International Saint Adalbert Conference was Cardinal @dominikduka , Archbishop Emeritus of Prague.
🇭🇺 Our freedom fight lasted barely two weeks. It was crushed by overwhelming force. Yet its impact was immeasurable. The free world has finally understood that communism is unreformable because it disregards individual freedom and it is not afraid to use violence to achieve its goals.
The lads of Pest proved that none is too young to be brave or to make sacrifices for the freedom of their homeland.
I agree with @SalisIlaria !
I too believe that what is at stake when the EU Parliament's Committee on Legal Affairs decides on her extradition will be “the rule of law, the credibility of the European Union and the very values for which it was founded”.
This woman, together with her fellow “antifascist” thugs, travelled 800 km to Hungary to attack unsuspecting passers-by from behind, beating them unconscious with iron bars.
This woman has brought disgrace upon Italy! We also found it rather difficult to accept the fact that Napolitano, a committed Stalinist, could be President of the Italian Republic from 2006 to 2015. This was the Napolitano who, in 1956, rejoiced in the fact that Soviet tanks had defeated the Hungarian freedom fight. He called our revolutionaries “fascists”.
We do not want communists here! Italian “comrades” should not come here to beat Hungarians, because we shall not tolerate it! Neither do we want lectures and milder forms of pedagogy. We have our own opinion on how this woman, who follows the tradition of the Lenin Boys, could become a teacher in Italy. But we have no influence over that.
If the European Parliament does not remove the parliamentary immunity of this criminal, if the Antifascist International turns against our country again, then this will give the green light to brigades of thugs to roam the streets of Europe, beating up citizens at will. They will only have to claim to be antifascists to enjoy the protection of the European elite – whose turn, I hope, will also come, along with their family members.
🇭🇺 The significance and the message of the 1956 revolution and freedom fight is the unconditional desire for freedom, which has no boundaries and no obstacles.
Every year on the 23rd of August we pay tribute to the victims of totalist dictatorships.
A sad day, a sad moment. And perhaps the saddest thing is that it is far not enough to commemorate for one day yearly. If only the 23rd of August were a day when the memory of the victims was the sole thing we remembered.
35th anniversary of the Pan-European Picnic
The affectionate reception of the East Germans in Hungary finally unveiled the false mask of communist fraternity, while the Pan-European Picnic was - regarding its impact - equivalent to an assassination attempt in Sarajevo turned backwards. This event at the border in August 1989 did not lead to a world war, but opened the way for movements that resulted in the states of Central and Eastern Europe regaining their independence and, with the unification of the two Germanies Europe united too.
In the century that has passed since Trianon, we have survived and thrived. 4th of June - the Day of National Unity; Hungary commemorates the Treaty of Trianon that dismembered the nation.
