Infact this first name thing is as much a western thing as it is African.
It’s basic etiquette.
You don’t address anyone you aren’t FAMILIAR with by first name you’d get that treatment even from the OYINBO you talk about.

In the training school you were taught to address colleagues. How are they colleagues? How are they familiar? She doesn’t even have a role yet, technically she hasn’t even graduated yet and even that doesn’t make her a colleague to the group chairman!
