What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger!

At 22 years of age, as the first Indian Female President of the Oxford University Students Union, my historic election victory rapidly transformed into a distressing nightmare of bullying, harassment, & threats. It was declared that “Oxford students are not ready for a Hindu President”, compelling me to step down from my rightfully elected position. When I took a stand against this injustice, I encountered a daunting ecosystem that believes in the monopoly of narratives and abhors the Hindu Dharma. From death threats to police intimidation, every effort was made to whitewash the episode and halt the investigation.

Last week, when the police arrived at my doorstep in #Udupi, it wasn't my first encounter with such intimidatory tactics. Over time, I've come to realize that this is part of a universal playbook used for centuries to gaslight historically oppressed communities and perpetuate institutional discrimination, with Hindus being among the timeless victims. Be it in the UK, Udupi, or any corner of the world.

As a child of one of the world's oldest thriving faiths, which has overcome countless challenges, I firmly believe that the trials we face only serve to strengthen us. Presenting to you chronicles of the past few years, of courage & conviction, of faith & endurance, of battles won & lost, of a young Hindu girl from Udupi to Oxford & beyond… A Hindu in Oxford.

All author proceeds from this book will be donated to young Hindus facing the unfair consequences of our world starting from the young girls of #Udupi.

Wow! You've started to praise Netaji Bose? In the 1940s, the Communist Party published a series of cartoons about Bose. In one, Japan Premier Tojo was seen riding a donkey Bose. In another one, Joseph Goebbels was seen raising a cat/dog Bose for a broadcast. In a third one, Tojo was walking with a puppet Bose. And in a fourth one, a bomb Bose was seen falling on starving Indians.

By the way, it was not Netaji Bose, but Mohan Singh, who founded the Indian National Army.

And here's a bonus tip: He was Subhas, not Subhash. With better and regular use, you'll get the right spelling.

I will not go into merits of the debate. There are better scholars of the history of civil rights in the U.S. to speak on that.

I do want to reference what @donlemon said. He said (I am paraphrasing) folks who don’t have the lived experiences of a group of people should defer to the group when it comes to talking about them. Those who are supporting him should also support Indian-American community that is fighting #SB403, a bill about caste. NONE of the folks on the California Senate Judiciary committee have any expertise in this space. And folks who have - on all sides of this issue - are being shut out. Only a anti-Hindu hate group is being allowed to define what caste and caste discrimination means.
