And accidentally uncovered a ₹70,000 Crore scam.

They noticed something suspicious in a restaurant’s billing system.

Investigation found:
• Cash sale bills were being deleted
• Around 27% of sales were hidden
• One chain alone allegedly hide ₹13,600 Crore in sales

Then AI-based checks found around 1.77 lakh restaurants using similar billing methods.

One biryani break → massive tax investigation.

Breakdown:

- Gas & oil: ~1.8% (32 BU)
- Large hydro: ~8% (149 BU)
- Nuclear: ~3% (57 BU)
- Renewables (solar, wind, bio etc.): ~14% (255 BU)

The claims are mostly accurate. India's electricity is ~73% coal-powered, so EV charging has high emissions upfront. Lithium mining uses ~2M liters of water per ton (mainly Chile/Argentina), nickel mining drives deforestation in Indonesia, and extraction causes soil/water contamination + toxic waste. Battery disposal is another issue, though recycling is improving. Trade-offs exist vs. ICE vehicles over full lifecycle.

EV vehicles are charged by using Electricity & …. guess… how most of electricity is produced in India by using… WHAT 🤓??

Did someone argue about Environmental impact… so .. let me break the Environmental impact of producing these batteries For EV cars -

Main materials used in these batteries are -
Lithium, Cobalt, Nickel & Graphite among other materials.

Few significant Environmental impact as per Experts-

1. Water depletion (Lithium mining in Chile/Argentina uses massive groundwater)

2. Deforestation (Nickel mining in Indonesia)

3. Massive Soil & water contamination .

4. High carbon emissions from mining operations

5. Toxic waste generation

As a matter of fact according to rough estimate- Lithium brine extraction can consume up to - approximately 2 million liters of water per ton of lithium.

And I am still not talking about Environmental Impact after these batteries life is over and the disposal impacts 😏
