According to Ten Asia exclusive report, SM Entertainment was found to have hired an outside company to manipulate public opinion on Internet forums during its management conflict with HYBE early last year, targeting HYBE groups.

On February 27 last year, public relations agency ‘Astrafe’ created a chat room called "St" that included employees of the viral company it hired and executives from SM, according to Telegram conversations obtained exclusively by this newspaper. This was a task force to create public opinion in favor of SM in the SM-HYBE case, which had been in full swing since the beginning of the same month. The idea was to create not only virality, spreading information in its favor, but also reverse virality, spreading negative news about the other side of the conflict. In total, there were six people. Two SM employees, the director of Astrafe and three representatives of viral companies.

It was written articles to raise concerns that groups could disband if HYBE acquired SM. "So far, the groups that have disbanded after HYBE took over are GFRIEND, NU’EST and Pristin. HYBE is making takeover bids because they need to eat first and they can do something. But as a result, even in the stock market, I don't sell HYBE shares because I think it is better for the current management of SM to be on the board of directors than for HYBE to be on the board of directors".

The Grammys just deleted a reel from months ago after being exposed where they talked about the new Asian category and the globalization of Asian music, but the most ironic is they just ignored and omitted any mention of BTS, as if they had never existed—when it was precisely them who are true pioneers of that global expansion.

It's fascinating to watch people talk endlessly about "Asian representation" while refusing to acknowledge the artists who fundamentally changed how the global music industry viewed Asian acts.

You cannot have an honest conversation about the globalization of Asian music market without mentioning BTS. Whether you like them or not, they broke barriers that many in the industry once insisted couldn't be broken. They topped charts, sold out stadiums, reshaped the industry's perception of non-English music, made stadiums all around the globe sing their songs word for word, bar for bar and made institutions to take Asian artists seriously.

So when people celebrate this new era of "representation" while conveniently leaving out one of the most influential acts in that story, it doesn't feel like representation. It feels like selective history.

Just my opinion but I stick to the theory that grammy colluded with companies related to kpop industry when making that Asian category but mentioned SK, JP and CN only. Grammys expand to the new market and a box to put bts in, and kpop is desperate for that “global” badge
