Former Army personnel officer here, 6 years active duty, one in a combat zone. Processed many medals. Some insights on the Walz stolen valor controversy.
A thread…
For years, Scott Pelley sat behind the 60 Minutes desk as one of corporate media’s most celebrated “journalists.”
This week, CBS fired him.
Now Pelley is claiming the network is casting him aside to appease the Trump administration
Pelley spent his career using one of the most powerful platforms in American media not to challenge power, but to protect the left’s preferred narratives.
He gave Andrew McCabe soft treatment. He helped Merrick Garland explain away the timing of Trump’s indictments. He helped CBS frame parents concerned about explicit books in schools as irrational censors. And when he interviewed Democrat lawyer Marc Elias, he left out key details viewers needed to understand Elias’ role in the Russia collusion hoax.
That is not journalism. That is propaganda.
Scott Pelley’s firing may be welcome news to Americans tired of being lectured by partisan activists posing as neutral journalists.
But Pelley is only one face of a much larger problem.
For decades, corporate media has buried facts that threaten the left’s preferred narratives, protected institutions that deserve scrutiny, smeared ordinary Americans who dare to object, and presented partisan propaganda as objective reporting.
We've all seen how 60 Minutes interviews Trump. They go to war with him on every statement.
Scott Pelley has interviewed Biden numerous times. They are always softball interviews but his 2022 interview with Biden was particularly pathetic. Inflation was just off of a 40 year high. Pelley did ask him one question it about inflation in the beginning and then moved on to the fun stuff.
No questions about the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan the year before. No questions about the fact that the border was wide open and had been for two years.
Here's some clips from that pathetic interview.
1/7: Biden claims to have reduced the debt. No correction or follow-up from Pelley.
@Breaking57 Drive in the opposite direction of where she wants to go, ideally to the airport, where you can likely pick up a good fare anyway. Explain to her that her next ride after you is getting more expensive by the second. She’ll get out, even if she’s drunk.
Memorial Day doesn't need long speeches, it's just a very simple sentiment: Your barbeques and your cookouts and your happy times together with people you love is possible because specific Americans died on battlefields decades and centuries ago. They died so that you could enjoy freedom and liberty, RIGHT NOW, in this greatest country in the world. That's it. Salute them and appreciate them, and more than anything else, ENJOY this weekend so that they didn't do what they did in vain. 🇺🇸 #MemorialDay
Was watching this old Steve Martin appearance on Charlie Rose & what he said about hippie comedians is very relevant to 2026: They were just yelling NIXON instead of being funny.
Thank You Senator Schmitt for highlighting the unconstitutional maps in Illinois. Illinois maps are explicitly drawn with racial intent. I am suing Pritzker over the maps and we all appreciate additional help from the federal government to right this wrong.
CBS News said there was no evidence of fraud.
The NYT said the Somali community was being targeted
CNN said there was "little evidence."
Tim Walz said it was “white supremacy” to expose fraud
Today: $90M busted and 15 charged.
IT WAS ALL FRAUD AND THEY KNEW.
I admired Bob Woodson from afar growing up years before I had the opportunity to meet him and ultimately develop a friendship with him over the last decade.
A humble servant of the Almighty and a prodigious intellect. An OG civil rights leader. A solutionist. A transformer of men. A master storyteller who picked the right stories to tell. And, importantly, a fellow cigar aficionado.
My contributions to Bob's work were to turn him onto some proper smokes and routinely (as often as I could) have him on my little show in Chicago to try and expose as many people as I could to his clarity of thought.
With some people, even when their time is near there is just no way to prepare for their passage. The loss is just so immeasurable.
Bob's work lives on at the Woodson Center and in the minds he sharpened and the hearts he set aflame.
Non omnis moriar.
Had the honor and pleasure of interviewing Robert Woodson, Sr. twice in my life and continued deep discussions off the air. An incredible human being who made a giant impact in so many people's lives.
Rest In Peace, Bob Woodson.
