@pettanplanet like imagine if MCU spider man movies were just a reteling of the tobey maguire spider man movies but with other actors, "better" special effects and some few changes. They would be considered a huge waist of pontential and resources, why does the gamesindustry work like that?
@pettanplanet Like i would much rather have reimaginings, kinda taking the core ideas but building a completly modern take on it. Kinda what a lot of super hero comics do, let every generation have their own spiderman story rather than remaking the same exact plotpoints with new graphics.
@Hollowtide I am a halo doomer though campaign evolved will probably be a fun time to play with my brother so I'll look forward to it even if there are like a hundred things I could criticize the game for
@EARTHM0VERRR I remember reading it 3 years ago like 100 chapters in two days but after a month of waiting for weekly chapters I just fisseled out. Dandadan is fun when you are experiencing it but there isn't much that sticks to you or that makes you look forward to reading/watching more
@jackcrawford__ I feel though meters can support other mechanics in much better ways, like:
- attack to gain meter
- multiple abilities use up same meter
- meter can be used before fully charged up
And I would rather track one or two meters than like 6 different cooldowns
@vitaaeris give me 3 well paced 20-25 hour games and i would have been happy. Games really dont have to be long anymore. I played through dmc5 3 times (50 hours in total) and i would have replayed ff7R at least once on higher difficullty if it wasn't for the filler/pacing issues
@grievous129 if you dont fire your team, reuse assets and keep using the tools your team is familiar with you can make high quality games fast, its that simple. Same reason why fromsoft releases so many souls games.
Infalted development times are in most cases just stupid management
@PandaKingEX Doing a trilogy was the right call. ff7R scale with current graphics would simply not be possible, however it should have been a trilogy where each game would be 20-35 hours long, not 40+ hours each. The pacing and filler content are genuinely holding the games back
@TheRealQuenny Thanks for posting a link to it a week ago, been playing it here and there and it's quite fun. Really feels like a mix between halo 3 and 4 so basically halo 3.5
@MarshSMT Didn't buy the game cause I new it would get an enhanced version down the line, I just hope they won't screw up the balancing like they did with p5r
@ZinogreVolt Love legends but it's just a collection of fun levels with bearly any narrative structure, there is no reason to just make it again instead of making a new game other than "remakes are in right now"
@sean_gause you are very good at hiding engine in the artstyle so even this example feels wack and i might just be imagining it, but what i notice working with unity is that the lighting likes to pronounce edges more than most engines
@Xuanathame I get like slightly mad when people say undertale is there favorite turn based rpg or something like that cause in practice these games are story driven adventure games not RPGs
