Sometimes I let myself be amazed by the power of simply switching things up. This is the game running in orthographic mode (rather than perspective). It really gives off RTS vibes.
First working version of "full upper body motion" (with independent lower body anim). Unity's built in anim blending is pretty poor for drastic movement.
Solution: lower body control the pelvis-bone while upper body copies pelvis rotation and evenly distributes it to the spine.
Early version of "aggro range indicators".
There's a ton of techniques going into this but I'm basically using two stacked decal projectors per creature to project a solid circle but also a transparent inner-circle to mask out a hole.
This way the borders seem to glue together.
I will continue posting screen captures from my "Learning 3D-game dev" journey throughout 2025.
As you might tell a game is slowly forming. The project name is currently "Umbilicus".
I started my journey in November last year and is really happy about my progress thus far!
@tanmays Love this feature!
From day one of using an iPhone my brain has been wanting a way to tone down the amount of different colors on each screen. It honestly is a design mess with different colors everywhere. And sorting apps by color is just tedious.
