"Deprecate yourself. Don’t be the go-to person for the code. Optimize it for people to find their way fixing bugs and adding features to the code. Free yourself to move on to the next project/company. Don’t own the code or you’ll never grow beyond that." –Alex Ewerlöf
Of course "Rhythm is dancer", but it's a s̵o̵u̵l̵'̵s̵ data engineer's companion too.

If all I did was follow best practices for programming, I feel like I'd never actually write any code. (It's up to you whether or not that's a good thing 😂)

One of the most important skills is to be a "Great Team Player"!
But never forget that you must be able to create/deliver things on your own!
It seems that we tend to forget how important is this when we are working as a member of a team for a long time.
You know you are ready for the next step in your personal life or your career when you can point out your achievements in the previous one.
You know... Answering the most cliché interview question: "What Are You Most Proud of?".
And of course, for what you are not!
So our Venture Collective is growing. We are looking for a Junior FrontEnd Developer eager to join the team!
Will code our page hopefully over the next couple of days but including the job description and some sample screens of our designs. RTs appreciated 🙏
@banditaras @agorf I totally agree!
I would add that the senior dev has a reverse thinking approach.
A senior dev starts from defining the end goal, then he/she finds the right tools and then tries to master them in order to achieve the end goal.
@banditaras @agorf I would not classify them as junior and senior developers.
Perhaps as "get things done" devs VS "CV builders", but perhaps it's the same thing 🙂
If you are around software engineering roles you should have heard quotes like "don't over-engineer" or "don't over-anything"!
I strongly believe that the same principles should be applied in the design of every complex system, such as a company's organizational chart.
Hey world, our own @charkost has been featured in this week's @RubyWeekly issue for his prosopite gem!
