We took steel wool and put a battery on it and the charge coming from the battery made the wool spark up and after the reaction the steel wool weighed more than before it burned. @marilynthemole #LC3CHEMLIFE18

We took steel wool and put a battery to it. Our group said it would light on fire so we were partially correct except it was little sparks that started when the battery came in contact with the steel wool and spread out. @marilynthemole #LC3CHEMLIFE18

Last week we learned how Brass is made by mixing zinc and copper. With our knowledge on alloys we figured out that brass is a substitutional alloy. By combining copper and zinc and then heating it we ended up making brass. #LC3ChemLife18 @marilynthemole
