reminder that dairy milk has to go thru an extreme amount of processing to be safe for human consumption. which is why I’ll never take people seriously when they say plant milk is too processed. it’s like nuts, salt and water for christs sake
"I was gonna send like a horse tongue or something to her mail"
Man it's incredible how angry and unhinged people get at animal advocates who are just saying things like "maybe we shouldn't literally torture billions of animals if we don't have to"
holy moly
Future generations won’t ask whether pigs deserved to move.
They’ll ask how we ever convinced ourselves that they didn’t.
@KLiamGray is right. Senate Republicans should oppose the nefarious Save Our Bacon Act.
The federal government just banned bison from public land in Montana.
Not cattle.
Bison.
Interior Secretary Burgum revoked grazing permits for 950 bison
on 63,000 acres of federal land in northeastern Montana.
The reason?
Bison raised for conservation don't count as livestock
under a 1934 law.
Bison raised for meat and milk? Fine.
Bison raised to restore a native species to its native land? Get out.
Meanwhile, cattle ranchers across the West keep grazing on your land.
For $1.69 a month.
One cow. One calf. Thirty days. $1.69.
On land that belongs to every American.
The Cheyenne River Sioux. The Coalition of Large Tribes —
50+ Native nations. Defenders of Wildlife.
They all filed formal protests.
They called it exactly what it is.
"DEI for cows."
The bison have until September 30 to be gone.
Who decided cattle belong on public land more than bison do?

This is the reality of cheese. 💔
Cows in the dairy industry are forcibly impregnated again and again to produce unnatural amounts of milk, never seeing their babies grow up.
Take action for them below this #NationalCheeseDay!

🐙🎉BREAKING NEWS, NEW YORK!🎉🐙
WE DID IT. The NYS Senate just passed our industrial octopus farming ban bill (S7421B) with strong bi-partisan support with a vote of 55-5! This is a major win for our brilliant, sentient ocean friends! 🌊
THANK YOU to our lead sponsor @NYSSenatorMRM and Senate leadership @AndreaSCousins@SenGianaris for getting this done. Please thank them!
New York’s senators heard us loud and clear: Octopus do NOT belong on factory farms. Now onward to the Assembly!
I've been working on farm animal protection for a while now, and I haven't seen anything quite like what's happening around the Save Our Bacon Act.
People who have never organized before, including some genuinely prominent voices, are hosting events, calling senators, and fundraising from friends. And those of us who have been here a while, across many ideological divides and every strategic disagreement, are showing up together.
We've always punched above our weight (out of necessity!), but this feels substantively very different. The political and social cost of supporting this barbarism is finally rising.
In @dcexaminer, @KLiamGray warns of the political costs of voting for “Save Our Bacon”:
“MAHA has already demonstrated its political clout, forcing Luna’s amendment to stop pro-pesticide policies; voting for the SOB Act could be ample ammunition when the MAHA primaries begin.”
🚨 DC UPDATE: The fight against the Save Our Bacon Act is far from over.
Just wrapped up several Senate office meetings, and the takeaway is clear: our voices are being heard. But we can’t stop now.
We need numbers. Call, email, and share. Every single action brings us closer to a win. Keep the pressure up!

The alfalfa is fed to cattle. The problem is cattle. If you’re upset about water shortages, water pollution, deforestation, or climate change, you should be upset about cattle.
I've been thinking more about *time* when I think about animal cruelty. Usually I've thought about severity of pain but this meme really drives home the time element. These animals are in a lot of pain *and* are bored, which slows down time. And they have no distracting stimuli.
Truly disturbing that the American Veterinary Medical Association (@AVMAvets) is lobbying Congress to keep pigs in tiny crates.
Welfare scientist Donald Broom said it's "much worse than severely beating an animal."
Seems like a clear violation of the veterinarian's oath.
This is one of my all-time favorite pieces of corporate propaganda.
USDA-compliant pigs listening to soft rock under natural lighting, just the way God, the manufacturer of this world and all things living, apparently instructed in Genesis 1:26.
No non-compliant items in inspection reports.
What kind of humane endpoints would Jesus want?
