@flippac Indeed what got me thinking about this was my upstairs neighbour's piano practice. Thought process was that if non-residential meant noise-equivalent to an office, under normal conditions usage patterns might be such that the interleaving creates mutual buffer
I would have "any sufficient technology indistinguishable from magic" turned on its head, w widespread wielding and non-mastery of magic. Due not to mysterious forces but our own human ineptitude, foot bullets of own making. It's great and world better for it but also a bit shit
One thing I'd be amused to see is a fantasy subgenre where combination of magic and modern world ends up having incredibly mundane implications. Like the most practical way to generate electricity via magic is to boil water and spin a turbine. Or bug-ridden spells with clumsy UX
Aside from the various words for snow...err, I mean aunt/uncle, I think my entire Teochew/Hokkien vocabulary fits into a tweet (apologies, don't know how to transcribe properly):

jiak
teow, zai
png, muoi, bak
moh
nang
ho
ang
kaki

liao
I have found a use case for Esperanto (aside from the ones it wants).
Say you have a film where main characters are speaking language X, but rendered as English for mass audience.
Only in this film you have Outsiders who speak English. So, render the English as Esperanto
I wish “snowflake” wasn’t used pejoratively because I actually kind of think everyone IS ❄️.
You are all wonderful. Maybe interfacing some of that Wonderful with other Wonderful can be challenging at times though
Seems like a pretty intro to the whole Form is Emptiness thing (which for folks who are not into this thing could be useful if wondering what people are going on about) https://t.co/NmPcml3Xql
So ADHD medication does not eliminate my symptoms but it does attenuate them so I can function. What is recently interesting is notice the wheel-spinning when I am ON meds. Easier to recognise and forgive in its weakened form, then to wonder how I ever did without.
Theatre of War - I think I might have spent various bits of two decades thinking I’d seen a friend play this game but wondering if it existed at all or if I was just imagining it. Remembered it as being chesslike but with multiple eras of unit type https://t.co/ErVMsfExg3
