In a world where some people lose themselves trying to stay in marriages that are hurting them, Ricky said he doesn’t want to get married.

In a world full of absent and deadbeat parents, Ricky said he doesn’t want to bring an innocent child into the world only for them to suffer.

Some people have children simply because they want to be called “Mum” or “Dad,” without being mentally, emotionally, or financially prepared for the responsibility that comes with raising a child. Sadly, the children often end up carrying the trauma of choices they never made 😔

This new month, let’s spread the message that it is okay to choose not to be a wife or a husband. It is okay to choose not to be a parent. Marriage and parenthood should never be obligations we pursue simply because society expects them from us.

If you know you’re not ready or you simply don’t want that life, choosing not to bring innocent people into a situation where they may be neglected or hurt can be an act of responsibility, self awareness and love. 🖤

RICKY: I plan to go to Nepal and live with monks and eat fish. I don’t want to be accumulating wealth when I have money. Before I get to the end of the road, I have spent it. I have given to people. That is how I live.
CHIMSOM: Do you ever want to have kids?
AIKOU: You better not delve into that.
RICKY: They asked me the question during the panel thingy because I told them I’m never getting married. Everybody was asking me questions. They said, “What about children?” I was trying to have a kid with my exgirlfriend, right, and it didn’t just work out.
CHIMSOM: Actively trying to have a kid?
RICKY: Yeah, yeah. We were. So here is the thing: she wanted to, and I’ll give it to her, that’s the only way I am going to do it with someone who actually wants a child. So I don’t have to go through all the struggles of raising the child. I mean, as much as I want to be in the child’s life, I don’t want to be 100 percent responsible for the well being of the child.
The way that I live, I should not have a child, right? Yeah, yeah. But if I meet a girl who wants it, like if I mistakenly get a girl pregnant who doesn’t want it, we are taking it out. The girl has to want that child before I can want it, because if it’s left to me as it is, I just want to move about.
AIKOU: Do you if you ever have a child, you are going to be
CHIMSOM: He is not going to be as active. He is not going to be too much of an active father.
AIKOU: No father figure?
RICKY: Ah, nah. I will be there when I can, but the mother is going to do most of the raising because it’s not going to work. I’m not going to lie to myself.
AIKOU: Do you think you find fun because you are coping with something? Maybe there is some sort of suffering that you are coping with, you know? Like junkies, they find pleasure; they just want it because it helps them cope. So do you think it’s coping for you?
RICKY: No. I just think I have been through too many experiences, and I have seen almost every angle of life, to be honest. Like, bro, I lived with my girl for a year, and we laid on the same bed every single night. We went on dates, we went to events, and so I realised that there is actually not much in this marriage thing.
Because if we are married, it will still feel the same way. Nothing is going to change. Then I try to picture it both of my siblings, my brother and my sister, they have children, right? And I look at it and I’m like, “I don’t want to do this.”
My brother is stressed most of the time. My sister is stressed most of the time. Why should I go through that? It’s not going to really change my life significantly. Now that I just have a child, I’m not necessarily going through anything for, like, a better part of my life.
I have just been on cruise. I just feel like life is meant to be lived, not lived by a structure that has been created hundreds of years ago, because a lot of people struggle in life people who have kids, people who have

A woman has just given birth.

Everybody is happy. Then suddenly, she starts bleeding.

This is postpartum haemorrhage, and when it happens, no one has time to ask where the drug, tranexamic acid or TXA is.

That drug, Tranexamic acid can help reduce deaths from bleeding when it is given early after PPH starts.

So if a facility is providing emergency obstetric care, TXA should not be something they start looking for when the emergency has started.

It should be there.

As a man, if your wife is preparing to give birth, ask if the facility has TXA available. Same thing if you’re pregnant and preparing for delivery.

Ask questions. Know what is available.

Prepare before the emergency comes.
