A lot of people are talking about how dumb Mamdani is that he doesn’t realize the economic impact this is going to have. But that’s wrong. He does realize. This is intentional.

The rent freeze is going to do what it’s designed to do which is create a system of political patronage that allows him to hand out property at ultra low prices to DSA and Muslim friends and secure a permanent stranglehold on NYC.
