@mbertulli How about a larger size for cat litter? Wife (notice I didn't say "we" 😂) has been using plastic bags for that shit (literally) forever... May not fit under the barxby brand if solely focused on dogs but the need is there.
@soundslikecanoe I wouldn't import dropship orders into Shopify itself but rather into your OMS. From there it can feed into 3PL, ERP/accounting, etc. Think of it as hub and spoke systems architecture, Ecommerce platform is a spoke, dropship is a spoke, POS, etc. All feed into the hub.
@BenMarks Congrats Ben on a magnificent run. I'll never forget that cover letter - it was one of the first, and definitely one of the best that I've seen since. I for one am not surprised of what you've accomplished. Proud of you bro!
@Julian Consider it cost of experimentation 😉 - every hire you make is based on a thesis - sometimes thesis is right, sometimes wrong - in my testing the "hire superstars" thesis was considerably outperformed by the "hire tomorrow's superstars" thesis. Develop, nurture, cultivate, grow.
@Julian Some of the best superstars I've ever hired, out of hundreds over 10+ years, were "diamonds in the rough" that didn't command "superstar salaries" - in fact, those that looked like superstars during recruitment that we paid like superstars underperformed against these hires.
@Julian All of them were rewarded as they untapped their potential accordingly (often salaries jumped 2-3x over a few years) but based on my experience I'd take chances on diamonds in the rough than people that might look like superstars up front and result in a much bigger $ to find out
Excited to (finally) announce that after some time off, and deep contemplation on the beach, I'm switching gears to build up a new D2C brand. I can only hope to achieve the same success as the last 12 years have brought. A new day, a new dawn.
On that note, I've started to subscribe to more content, and people, focused on building D2C brands - always open to more recommendations if you have any. Others have paved the way and I have lots of new things to learn.
