@Frencheconomics The problem with looking at the January 27 tax receipts is they relate to the year ending April 2026 - things were starting to fall off, but will be getting even worse since.
@ThatSamMargrave @JCBPemberton @synod The first rule is "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength". The second is "love your neighbour as yourself". Other 'rules' can lead to self-righteousness and box-ticking.
@Ray_McCann55 I've accepted reasonable excuse before the General Commissioners when new facts came out in the hearing - to do otherwise jeopardises your credibility. It also (still) happens at Tribunal unfortunately.
@Ray_McCann55 It is quite possible that some of the facts set out in the decision only came out at the hearing - the video hearing and cross-examination would bring details out that weren't available to the reviewing officer. However, in the light of the facts now known, a fair decision.
@HSBCUKBusiness Iโve been waiting over half an hour on your telephone banking line - my call canโt be that important to you if you canโt answer in that time
@sainsburys please could you remind your delivery drivers not to block pavements when parking - this morning I had to walk in the road as there was insufficient space between the van and a wall. I was ok but if Iโd had a pushchair or been in a wheelchair Iโd have been stuffed. 1
When challenged he said โweโre not allowed to block the roadโ - but equally, heโs not allowed to block the pavement, wasnโt even making a delivery, just checking his next one (or his phone)
