Thinking about a certain journalist who loves to throw around the word disability but hasn’t made a peep about the impending forced institutionalization of disabled children, I hope she realizes they won’t have phones or masks in these facilities and speaks up soon!
@_kalikokat_ His horse screaming like “an insect”, his hardening walk back with the dead wolf, the whole speech from Gabi about how “you hate them because they didn’t go through hell like you”… I needed that 💔
@LividEllen@iammarina_100 I mean I hear you and I think we are generally in agreement definitely about Gen X. I’d like to think that maybe that’s a type of woman on her way out… but I believe we are more than that as a whole, there’s always a few but I don’t know any in my life that’s why I asked!
@iammarina_100@LividEllen Right.. you see women as patriarchal slaves so why would they be entitled to the money they both work together to earn as a single income household. There are people that exist who see women as more than slaves and consider it “their” income btw, it’s a called a partnership.
@LividEllen@iammarina_100 I didn’t choose for my child to become disabled but I did choose to stay home and take care of them instead of hiring someone so I could have a job so idk make of that what you will but I’m not being anti feminist by saying maybe we shouldn’t stigmatize housewives
@LividEllen@iammarina_100 she made a pretty general statement about housewives while you are describing tradwives when the conversation seemed financial in its origin so maybe you can see where I’m coming from?
@LividEllen@iammarina_100 I appreciate you trying to have this conversation but I don’t want to give my life story on a twitter thread, Ive been a mom for 11+ years, done both, im happy here. Ik im repeating myself, but I dont agree with the OP and found it useless to post w/o inviting further discussion
@iammarina_100@LividEllen No and I said it wasn’t even about me, you just called me a hit dog. I’m just repeating that I don’t think we should put women in boxes and make unhelpful broad statements like OP’s, you brought feminism into this like I’m trying to keep women in the 50’s when I’m not
@iammarina_100@LividEllen So in an effort to make this a more productive conversation bc it wasn’t even supposed to be about my experience but I’d like to offer that perspective since I’m apparently a “hit dog”, I was just trying to look past what I see as a very black and white way of thinking.
@iammarina_100@LividEllen Ok like in all seriousness, because I’m not trying to be defensive.. I’m a stay at home caregiver for a severely disabled child. More like I had a life outside of the home and this is the choice I made and I understand the stigma that comes with being “just a housewife”
