@COTW_SNK_NeoGeo Plaion hired homebrew dev h0ffman to add the exclusive Neo Geo CD course into Big Tournament Golf. It turns out he was already working on a Neo Geo port of Zero Wing, a game parent company Embracer happens to have the rights to. That's why it was a no-brainer release.
@therealh0ffman@BenNeoGeoFan Golden Axe, The Revenge Of Death Adder, Wild West C.O.W.-Boys Of Moo Mesa, The Combatribes, Blade Master, Arabian Magic, The Ninja Kids, Ghosts 'N Goblins, Ghouls 'N Ghosts, Dynasty Wars, Warriors Of Fate, Biomechanical Toy, The Cliffhanger: Edward Randy, 64th Street, Alien Storm
@therealh0ffman@BenNeoGeoFan Boogie Wings, Armored Warriors, Captain Commando, Alien Vs. Predator, The Punisher, Asterix, Battletoads, Bucky O'Hare, Dungeon Magic, X-Men, Denjin Makai I+II, The King Of Dragons, Knights Of The Round, D&D: Tower Of Doom + Shadow Over Mystara, Monster Maulers, Violent Storm
@QuidProQuo23@superjarm Imagine all the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis games that could be ported to the Neo Geo AES with how similar they are architecturally.
@NWeedle Capcom Play System+ consolized arcade platform from Plaion Replai that has ASICs that can play pre-CP System, CP System, CP System Dash, CP System II, CP System III and Naomi games mainly from Capcom but open to other publishers as well.
@skairdstr8@PLAION_Americas Don't expect official clarification on the quantity of Ultimate Editions. Whatever number they had in mind initially went out the window after the 1st day of preorders outperformed sales projections for an entire year. It's in their best interest now to make as many as possible.
@PLAION_UK I've been playing Windjammers on my Switch. I'm getting the Neo Geo AES+ so I would love to see the game re-released by Plaion Replai and maybe someday get an AES targeted sequel - Windjammers Special - with additional stages, mini games and playable characters.
@basemntbrothers@COMMONSENSE8_@Sabre_AZ You say that sarcastically, but Xbox is on its way out and PlayStation has a rough road ahead. If Apple or Amazon wanted to jump into the console race, partnering with Sega would be a no-brainer with all the IPs they bring to the table and Dreamcast is a great name for a console.
@COMMONSENSE8_@basemntbrothers@Sabre_AZ Hire OG Neo Geo devs from the 90s and indie teams to make new installments. Bring on Crossed Swords III, Magician Lord II, Ninja Master's Revenge, Sengoku 4, Shock Troopers: 3rd Attack, SNK vs. Capcom 2, Super Sidekicks 2027, Waku Waku 16, Windjammers Special and World Heroes 3.
@basemntbrothers@Sabre_AZ@COMMONSENSE8_ Is making Art Of Fighting 4, Baseball Stars 3, Garou: MOTW 2, The King Of Fighters 2027, King Of The Monsters 3, The Last Blade 3, Metal Slug 8 & Samurai Shodown VII exclusively for the AES economically viable? Obviously not. That's why you also port them to all modern platforms.
@JJan1972 Looking at the Visco catalog, there aren't many Neo Geo games left PixelHeart haven't published. They'll offer #Breakers to Plaion but not #BreakersRevenge. All the caveats are a turnoff.
@JJan1972 PixelHeart saying the Visco games they've already released will never be available for cheaper from Plaion rubbed me the wrong way. Never is a long time. I get they want to sell through the copies they've already made, but surely something could be worked out after that.
@matthewhenzel@futurehombre8@dantemendes@PLAION Kraut Busters especially because it was an ultra low print run NEO GEO physical release, never ported to any platform and because of the built-in cartridge DRM was never even pirated. It would be the perfect game for a Plaion re-issue, but the dev wants to do it themselves.
@matthewhenzel@dantemendes@PLAION Indie devs making NEO GEO projects aren't willing to finalize their work on a traditional cartridge because they're also on modern platforms & want to continue updating the games indefinitely. They opt for NEO GEO carts that can be updated via USB, SD card or even built-in Wi-Fi.
@matthewhenzel@dantemendes@PLAION The trouble is it seems like most of the well known homebrew NEO GEO devs aren't interested in making that deal. They're rushing to reprint their past titles in time for the AES+ launch or launching preorders for new games, all at the previous status quo high prices.
@FGCSupers@HitmanGFX44 Think of all the arcade ports of yesteryear devs delivered to woefully underpowered devices & then think of how much performance they were able to squeeze out of the Neo Geo in its later years. The real question isn't if its possible, but rather if there's the incentive to do so.
@FGCSupers@HitmanGFX44 It's not impossible, but it wouldn't be a simple port, for sure. They would have to lower the resolution or redo backgrounds, special effects & the HUD but the character animation & sprites are doable on NeoGeo. KOF Neowave, Metal Slug 6 & Samurai Shodown VI are in the same boat.
