Westminster Police Officers were working on a hit and run accident when they believed they had heard shots fired. They responded to the area of 72nd Ave and Sheridan blvd. where they located a vehicle on 72nd just west of Sheridan. The saw a vehicle that appeared to have rolled off the south side of the road into a field. Preliminary information indicates that two male occupants were ejected from the vehicle and a third male occupant was able to get out of the vehicle and began to run when officers arrived on scene. He was contacted by officers and was transported to a local hospital by medical personnel. The other two males who were ejected were also taken to local hospitals and believed to have serious injuries.

A gun was later located in the vehicle, but at this time it is unknown if it was fired.

There is no impact to traffic in the area.

Preliminary information indicates that alcohol may be a factor. The vehicle that rolled was not associated with the hit and run officers were initially investigating.

This is believed to be an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. This is an ongoing investigation, more information will be released as it becomes available.
