Every Memorial Day, I think about all the events that have brought us to where we are today. I stand in awe of the men who fought to build and save this country. I wonder about the discontent of modern Americans, and the attempts to rewrite history to dissolve our faith in the Union. But then I remember people like general Ely Parker, a Native American from the Seneca Indians who sat on Ulysses S Grant’s war staff. He was the man who delivered the terms of surrender to Robert E Lee, and when Lee said “I am glad to see one real American here”, Parker replied, “We are all Americans, sir.” Has an idea ever been so profound that even the aggrieved believed in it enough to fight on its behalf? I cannot say, but I can say that this idea was, and that we should respect and honor it as we respect and honor those who gave their lives defending it.
NEW: Outer Banks star Austin North reportedly went nuts at a Las Vegas emergency room, punching a nurse in the head.
North is known for playing 'Topper' in Outer Banks.
The incident reportedly came out of nowhere and ended with multiple people being assaulted.
After punching one nurse, North pushed another in the face and then pushed the blood collector into a table.
North was then smacked in the head with a metal tray in an act of self-defense by one of the victims.
The actor was then arrested by the police and taken into custody where he was booked for gross misdemeanor battery. North was later reportedly bonded out.
It is unclear at the moment why he was in the ER in the first place.
