@Ashleigh1918040@leodanto@justinbroadcast She could have been taken out safely from behind, knocking her down and causing her to drop the weapons. She had absolutely no awareness of anything going on behind her. There's even a cameraman and rubberneckers there.
@neuroticalways@NYCMayor I agree. Could have immediately neutralized her without killing her. Someone could have come up from behind her and just knocked her down, for instance. (Also, maybe the tasers could undergo maintenance just like the firearms.)
@simonmontefiore The body language of the people in the clip does not indicate either a menace or defensive posture. Looks like an Ali G type with possibly some issues other than merely political ones.
@pearlsketches 1) "Mic drop" indicates that he is well aware that it's not an argument but a rhetorical tactic to resort to sparingly. 2) He's not comparing a building to a body at all (there's been no assault on the cathedral) but saying lived experience is required to have a say on the matter
@edwardlucas@zannymb It is a problematic framing, though. Compare to "does Russia have the right to exist" under the current circumstances. In 2026, Israel isn't going anywhere, other than expanding and leaving Mariupol-type wastelands in its wake.
@d_boeckner COMPLETELY off topic here, OBVIOUSLY, but does anyone know: is it spelled "tweaking and tweeting" or "tweeking and tweeting?" I think it's 1) but 2) is even more alliterative
@Thesis90@d_boeckner I would guess he's on the horseshoe part of the political spectrum. Brown-red, in other words. Antifa with a lot more emphasis on the fa. A Che T-shirt maybe but also Doc Martens with the right laces.
