@NicholasFerroni I would be more interested to know who can't relate. I would suspect that the last two years have led most of us to question this career. I am seventeen years in with twelve to go for full pension. I doubt I will make it.

School debate really lost its focus over the last few weeks.

The debate somehow became cumulative harm of online learning vs cumulative harm from COVID.

We should be debating harms from online schooling for the next 3-4 weeks vs sending kids to school as Omicron wave peaks.

“Absenteeism” is not when a teacher isolates to protect students and staff from an infectious disease. “Absenteeism” is when the minister of education goes missing for weeks and no one knows why or where.

In the next 4 weeks, about 16,000 people living in Canada will die from COVID-19 infections contracted in the past 4 weeks.

Just under 10,000 of these deaths will be reported.

Other countries have shown that this can be prevented with Omicron.

@IrfanDhalla As a teacher, thank you for deleting that. Schools are the best place for children, but gov't has done nothing to make them safer (except maybe allowing me to buy and wear my own KN95 masks). They should not be let off the hook by those who can speak truth to power.
