Students who have IEPs are not "special education students." They are just students. They belong to every teacher they have. Receiving a service doesn't change a students identity as a student. #LeadInclusion#EdChat#UDL#Inclusion
Do you have a vested interest in Education? @OPCouncil is hosting a Summit on Public Education. We seek input from anyone in Canada who wants a voice in shaping the future of public education. Join the discussion: complete a short survey. #CanEdSummit https://t.co/vpcqyKfQ56
Students who have IEPs aren’t “special education students.” They are general education students who receive special education supports. All students can benefit from the expertise of special educators through collaborative universal design for learning. #udl#globaledchat#EDtwt
Things for Arthur to ask Premier @FordNation next time:
1. What happened to the missing $4.4 billion of COVID relief funds?
2. Why did Min. @Sflecce lie about the safety of schools for a year?
3. What is Ontario doing to prepare for back-to-school in September? #onpoli#onted
Post pandemic - focus on love of learning instead of loss of learning. Positive mindset from adults is critical to mindset of students. Focus on student re-engagement. @DrDavidTranter
Sound advice from Dr. Roberta Bondar. She grew up in Sault Ste. Marie, was my mom's Girl Guide pal (the two of them received their 'Gold Cord' together),is a neurologist, a physician, an educator, and Canada's first female astronaut~I trust what she has to say. #ThisIsOurShotCA
We are seeing patients admitted to ICU with #COVID well after shot 1 and before shot 2.
One isn't vaccinated until fully vaccinated.
Given the significant delay between shots 1 & 2, clear communication on how to conduct oneself b/w shots from public health leaders would help.
While it's unlikely kids will return to in-class instruction this school year, we need to plan ahead.
Labour day is just over 4 months away.
For teachers/staff to be fully vaccinated when class resumes in September, they need their 1st shot in the next 2.5 weeks.
40% of adults to be vaccinated (assuming first dose) in Ontario by end of current lockdown. If this was an EQAO score we certainly wouldn't be celebrating. #fail#timeforteamCanada
3813 Covid cases and 19 deaths in one day in Ontario. @dougford It's time to put politics aside and ask for the "Team Canada" approach! #wecandobetter https://t.co/702tOWy0Er
Yes yes yes...it’s all about the teetering and who is with you along the way! So grateful for my colleagues, friends and family who have teetered...and laughed...alongside me along my way.
Sometimes we get so caught up striving for a perfect equilibrium that we forget to be present for the teetering. Finding balance is about the journey, not the destination. It's about who comes with us and what we experience along the way.
Pulling students from the classroom because they have a label harms a sense of belonging (and self-efficacy). There are wonderful alternates to this approach that are research based and support belonging. We all have strengths and needs! #LeadInclusion
It’s the ‘little excavator that could’. No pressure here at all. 30% of global trade at a standstill. No pressure. Maybe it’s time to reconsider the size of these ships in our waterways? #suezsituation
Hey Ontario parents with kids in public school!
Guess what school IS taking a two week March Break this year. That’s right, @Sflecce ‘a alma mater! Any concerns there, Minister, about kids going skiing or travelling or seeing families and friends? No? #OntEd#OntEdReality
