Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage is a former fast bowler in cricket, which is pretty interesting when it comes to transferable skills in the javelin.

One of the fastest bowlers Sri Lanka had at junior level, he has clearly used that speed on the runway in the field.

Sri Lanka has never won an Olympic gold medal (they've got two silvers from athletics at London 1948 and Sydney 2000). He's got every chance with this form at LA 2028.
