Heavy & continuous rainfall has disrupted normal life in many regions, affecting travel, electricity, internet connectivity and access to offices/clients. At the same time, tax professionals are facing significant workload and technical/portal-related challenges during the season
Hon’ble Finance Minister @nsitharaman ji, @FinMinIndia
We request the Government to kindly extend the last date for filing the Tax Audit Report (TAR), considering the genuine difficulties being faced by taxpayers and professionals.

📢 CAIT Requests CBDT and Finance Ministry for Two-Month Extension in TAR and Non-Audit ITR Due Dates
CAIT has urged the Honourable Union Minister of Finance and the chairman of the CBDT to extend the due dates for filing the TAR and ITR for audit cases.
📢 EXTEND THE TAX AUDIT DUE DATE TO 31ST OCTOBER PERMANENTLY
Why is this necessary?
🔹Tax Audit is not merely form-filling; it requires verification, reconciliation, documentation and professional judgement.
🔹 AIS, Form 26AS, TDS and GST data need to be properly reconciled before the audit can be finalised.
🔹 Multiple compliances — ITRs, Form 3CD, 10B, 10BB and other statutory requirements — create an excessive workload within a short period.
🔹 Frequent changes in tax provisions, forms and e-filing utilities require adequate time for proper compliance.
🔹 Portal/technical issues and last-minute information should not compromise the quality of the audit.
🔹 Rushed audits increase the risk of errors and omissions, affecting both taxpayers and tax administration.
The objective should be:
Adequate Time → Better Verification → Better Audit → Better Compliance
📌 A practical solution:
* If Q4 TDS Return is due by 30th April,
* AIS & Form 26AS are available by 15th May,
* ITRs, Form 3CD, 10B & 10BB and utilities are available by 15th May,
and
* Non-audit ITRs remain due by 31st July
THERE IS NO NEED TO SEEK AN EXTENSION BEYOND 30TH SEPTEMBER EVERY YEAR.
🗓️ 31ST OCTOBER SHOULD BE THE PERMANENT TAX AUDIT DUE DATE.

Dear @IncomeTaxIndia
Income Tax website is down. Even after entering the correct password, the Portal is still showing wrong password error.
Getting error from last 30 mins!
Same old pathetic state of Portal when due dates approach...
@IncomeTaxIndia income tax portal is not working. login is not done. showing error in password although password changed successfully. Please remove this glitch of portal.
🚨GSTR-2B TECHNICAL ISSUE ALERT🚨
For March 2026, some invoices for certain supplier GSTINs are not getting reflected in GSTR-2B.
On verification in IMS, the invoices are available but the return status is showing as “Non-Filed”, despite the supplier having filed return within time. In one case, the supplier filed on 8 April [Pics 👇]
Taxpayers who rely solely on GSTR-2B while filing GSTR-3B should be careful this month!!
@Infosys_GSTN Kindly look into this issue urgently
Same was observed by @CA_HarshilSHETH@DEEPKORADIA also
GSTR-9 & GSTR-9C due date should be extended to 31st January 2026.
MCA Annual Filings wavier of additional fees should be extended to 31st March 2026.
RT if you agree.
@IncomeTaxIndia Income Tax e-filing site appears to have crashed. Neither gets logged in directly at the portal nor through any software. Hence TIS, AIS, or 26AS not getting downloaded. This situation has been continuing for the last 3 days. Today is last day for filling ITRs.
Due date is here but the Income Tax portal is a mess. We are unable to download critical documents like AIS, TIS, and 26AS. How are we supposed to file our returns correctly? This is a complete failure. @IncomeTaxIndia, extend the ITR deadline now! #ITR#ExtendDueDate
