Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has taken a compassionate decision to allow police dogs to remain with the police force even after retirement.

A police dog retires after completing 10 years of service. Previously, retired police dogs were often given up for adoption elsewhere, which could adversely affect their mental well-being, with some even refusing to eat.

Fadnavis said a dog that has served the police force for 10 years should not be made to suffer after retirement. He emphasised that such animals should be cared for and allowed to spend the rest of their lives comfortably.

Under the new decision, police dogs will retire from active duty after 10 years but will continue to remain with the police force and their handlers. The Home Department will bear the expenses for their food and other associated requirements. The decision aims to ensure the welfare of retired police dogs while preserving their bond with their handlers.

This is amazing. My grandmother was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and her treatment is ongoing. It took 3 months to identify carcinogenic cells and it was a painful, invasive investigation. Had I known about this earlier I would have taken her there first. I have shared it with all he women in my family and put it on my status as well. Thanks for sharing!

A mammogram missed her cousin's breast cancer. By the time it was found it was too late, and she died.

About 6 months later a second woman in the same family was diagnosed. She died as well.

The woman watching this happen was an artificial intelligence researcher.

Her name is Geetha Manjunath.

She grew up in Bengaluru. She took her bachelor's degree in computer science at UVCE, then a master's and a doctorate at the Indian Institute of Science, where she was a gold medallist.

Her first job was at the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, where she was part of the team that built India's first commercial supercomputer in the 1990s.

She spent 17 years at Hewlett Packard Labs as a principal research scientist. She then became a lab director at Xerox Research in India, heading their data analytics research.

Then the 2 deaths in her family happened, and she went and read about the disease.

What she found is worth knowing.

In India, roughly half the women diagnosed with breast cancer die of it. Her own words are blunt. Every alternate lady detected with breast cancer is dying.

The reason is almost never the treatment. It is that the disease is found too late.

Mammograms are the standard test. They use x-rays, they are expensive, they are uncomfortable, they need a large fixed machine, and there is a specific medical problem with them. In younger women the breast tissue is denser, and dense tissue and tumours both show up white on the scan. So the tumour can hide.

That is what happened to her cousin.

She started working on it in her spare time, on weekends, with a small team, while still employed.

The idea was to use thermal imaging instead. A cancer uses more energy than normal tissue and the blood flow around it increases, so the area is slightly warmer. A thermal camera can see that heat pattern from a distance, without touching the body and without any radiation.

The hard part is reading it. Heat patterns are messy. That is where her actual expertise came in. She trained machine learning software to interpret them.

Their first test was with a medical college in Manipal, using thermal images of 72 cancer patients.

It worked.

In 2016 she left her job and started a company with a former colleague, Nidhi Mathur. They called it Niramai, which stands for Non Invasive Risk Assessment with Machine Intelligence, and which in Sanskrit also means free from illness.

The test needs no radiation, no touch, no pain, and no one else in the room. It works on women of any age and any breast density. The equipment is portable, so it can be taken to villages.

More than 400,000 women have now been screened across over 250 locations in India. More than 2,000 cancers have been found.

The technology has regulatory clearance in the United States and in Europe. She holds 14 American patents.

She has one line she repeats.

Nobody needs to die of breast cancer, if you can catch it early enough.

Personal experience of Indian army- Saved life of my mom

My family went to visit Gurudongmor Lake in Sikkim.

My taxi guy while going up told us that Oxygen level is so less that many people have died while on the way back.

We rubbished him intially.

At that height you cant stay more than 15 mins. We clicked some pics and continued our journey back.

Very soon my moms nails starting becoming blue and then her face .

Fortunately we were very near to the army camp.

The army folks rushed in , took my mom , treated her like a Queen till she got back to her senses.

At the end they gave samosas also.

Most moral army in the world 🙏🙏

If you go to any Tier-1 or Tier-2 city today and you will see alot of 25 year old Gen Z kids trapped in the ultimate wealth dilemma

1. The Ego Trap: They refuse to take blue collar or ground level sales jobs because it hurts the family reputation.

2. The Lifestyle Trap: They refuse to take an entry level ₹30,000 corporate job because that doesn't even cover their baseline monthly expenses for cafes, fuel, and weekend trips.

3. The Entitlement Trap: They refuse to take over the traditional family business that actually built their wealth because it isn't aesthetic or is too boring.

So what do they actually do? Absolutely nothing.

They wake up at 11 AM. They live off the passive rental yield their parents built. Maybe they stroll into their dad's office for 4 hours a day to sit in an AC cabin to play Director-director and leave.

And the parents are 100% to blame.

Their obsession with providing a comfortable life and feeding their kids passive income has completely killed the family's active ambition. The father is still grinding 10 hours a day at 55, while the 25 year old son is treating life like an all inclusive resort.

If your father is funding your comfort zone, you are just a massive liability on a monthly allowance.

Worse, Indian parents actively refuse to let their kids move out of the city to struggle. Their entire logic is why leave when your father is already earning enough here?

In the US, kids are pushed out to build their own survival skills. In India, We are suffocating our kids with comfort.

Pay tributes to Gopal Patha
alias Gopal Mukherjee the saviour of Hindus following the Jehad launched by Muslim League on this day in Kolkatta in 1946 in the name of Direct Action to demand Pakistan.

Over 5,000 Hindus were massacred by ML goons on Aug 16 before Patha, a meat shop owner, mobilised Hindus & gave such a bloody reply that the Muslim leaders were on their knees in no time.

Gandhiji called Patha but he refused to lay down arms invoking Bhagwad Gita & saying that against violence, he would defend himself even with nail, if left with nothing.

MA Jinnah was correct in his judgement that if ML indulged in violence Gandhiji’s non-violent Cong would surrender. In leas than one year on Aug 14, 1947, Bharat was partitioned & Pakistan was born.

The villainy of the pro-Muslim Cong can be gauged from the fact that Gopal Patha was reduced to the status of a goon when he should have been projected as a revolutionary freedom fighter for standing up to Muslim League’s jehadi violence.

The genuine elements in the Gen-Z agitation - different from Urban Naxal mindset - who are unhappy with certain actions of present Central Govt must remember this episode & ask themselves a question :

‘ Do we want to replace the present Govt with a Congress which is more pro-Minority than ever before & had even supported hate preachers like Zakir Naik & had invented the false Hindu terror theory ?’

One more thing. I appeal to Central Govt & state Govts to make this entire episode including the bravery & patriotism of Gopal Patha a part of school syllabus.

The fatwa against Rishi Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s ‘Vande Mataram’ is not without history and can be traced to Congress’s capitulation in the face of Islamist opposition.

In 1923, the Congress met at Kakinada and Maulana Mohamed Ali was brought to the venue in a procession led by a raucous band. As was the practice, the session was scheduled to begin with a rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’ by Pandit Vishnu Digamabar Paluskar.

When Pandit Paluskar rose to sing what had by then become the anthem of India's freedom movement, Maulana Mohamed Ali protested, saying that music was taboo to Islam and therefore singing ‘Vande Mataram’ would hurt his religious sensitiveness.

Pandit Paulskar snubbed the maulana, pointing out that the Congress session was an open gathering and not a religion congregation of any one faith. For good measure, he added that since the Maulana had not found the band that led his procession as taboo to Islam, he could not object to the singing of ‘Vande Mataram’.

Maulana Mohammed Ali may have been stumped on that occasion, but by the time India became independent from foreign rule, the Congress had conceded ground to those who today exercise their veto against the singing of India’s National Song, ‘Vande Mataram’.

By 1937, Vande Mataram had become a 'Muslim grievance' and Ali Sardar Jafri convinced fellow-traveller Jawaharlal Nehru that the song which had inspired the freedom movement and sent martyrs like Khudiram Bose to the gallows without any trace of regret, was actually 'idolatorous in spirit'.

In fact, Nehru went a step further and described the mantra of Indian nationalism and patriotism as 'out of keeping with modern notions of nationalism and progress.'

The Muslim League was quick to take its cue from Nehru and a month later, on October 17, 1937, passed a resolution at its Lucknow session, condemning the Congress for foisting ‘Vande Mataram’ as the national anthem upon the country in ‘callous disregard of the feelings of Muslims.'

When the Congress Working Committee met in Calcutta later that year with Nehru as Congress president, it officially recognised 'the validity of the objections raised by the Muslims to certain parts of the Vande Mataram song' and 'recommended that at national gatherings the first two stanzas only of the song should be sung.'

The cultural and civilisational content of ‘Vande Mataram’ was sacrificed by the Congress on the altar of Muslim League politics.

But appeasement does not have any limits -- the Muslim League was not reassured either by Nehru's action or his promise that ‘Vande Mataram’ in 'future (will) become less important.'

The Pirpur Committee, which was set up by the Muslim League to compile a list of 'atrocities against Muslims', submitted its report on November 15, 1938. Among the 'atrocities against Muslims' was listed ‘Vande Mataram’.

Given this history, there is no reason to be surprised by Sonia Gandhi exercising the veto against the singing of Bharat’s National Song — the full version of ‘Vande Mataram’ — on behalf of the descendants and adherents of the Pirpuris.

He lost his leg in the Kargil War.

Somewhere over 30,000 feet, he was asking me — genuinely curious — how WiFi works and how he could use it better.

A man who gave a limb for this country, still showing up with the curiosity of someone starting fresh. That stayed with me.

Days later, I watched Operation Safed Sagar — Netflix’s new series on the IAF’s role in Kargil. Watching it right after meeting him hit differently. It’s easy to watch a war on screen. It’s another thing entirely to sit next to someone who lived it.

Independence isn’t an abstract idea. It’s a debt. Paid by people like him.
