Nobody buys a 3BHK and loses sleep because their neighbour has a 6BHK.
But investors abandon perfectly good portfolios because someone else's past returns look better.
@mohanty_swarup said this on Reality Check.
It's the clearest explanation of performance chasing I've heard.

After a five-year hiatus triggered by troop standoffs and clashes following stealth Chinese territorial encroachments, India is moving step by step to normalize ties with Beijing largely on China's terms, effectively abandoning its demand for a return to the pre-2020 territorial status quo in eastern Ladakh.
The irony is striking. After the 2020 encroachments, India sought to "decouple" from China. Now, by steadily rolling back the restrictions it imposed that year, New Delhi is becoming even more dependent on Chinese supply chains, allowing China's bilateral trade surplus with India to keep widening. That surplus now exceeds India's entire annual defense budget.
In its latest move, the Modi government has permitted four Chinese companies to bid directly over the next two years for Indian government tenders involving public-sector power infrastructure projects. Under Chinese law, Beijing retains ultimate regulatory and political leverage over all four companies, regardless of whether they are state-owned, publicly listed or privately held.
Many Western countries have moved to shield their critical power grids from Chinese involvement, fearing that such access could theoretically enable a hostile actor to activate a "kill switch" capable of disrupting or disabling parts of an electrical grid during a geopolitical crisis.

People get fined for overspeeding, wrong parking, no seatbelt and many other violations.
But no government official is ever punished for robbing citizens of their basic dignity on the road.
India set up a fully functional field hospital in earthquake-hit Venezuela, thousands of kilometres away, simply to help those in need.
This won’t dominate timelines or rack up 50 million views. But let there be one racist post targeting Indians, and it spreads like wildfire.
Humanitarian work rarely goes viral. Hate almost always does.
Yes, we had a disappointing weekend in cricket.
But at the same time, I often find myself rubbing my eyes in disbelief at India’s growing competitiveness in sports where I never imagined we’d even be globally competitive.
Volleyball. Fencing. Gymnastics. Rowing. Athletics. The list keeps growing.
Yes, we’re far from the top step of the podium yet.
However, something’s clearly changing at the ground level.
Years of effort by governments, both state and central, (outstanding example being Odisha) along with private sector organisations like OGQ and many others, may finally be starting to pay off..
But it is the individual sportspersons, this new generation of champions with grit, resilience and self-belief, who are my #MondayMotivation.
Americans: Indians taking our job
Reason: Three Indian teenagers just achieved something most scientists spend years working on. They created a biodegradable powder from tamarind seeds that helps remove microplastics from water—without electricity or complex machinery.
Their innovation, called Plas-stick, won the 2026 Earth Prize, making them the first global winners from India. A reminder that some of the world's biggest problems don't always need expensive solutions—sometimes they just need fresh thinking.

Indian athlets are creating wonders in China, but our pathetic media isn’t celebrating this success.
They are beating China in China.💪🏼💪🏼
Jyoti Gulia Wins Gold in 48KG boxing category.😍
Not Cricket. Not Badminton. Not Wrestling. This time, India's tricolour flew highest in gymnastics.
Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, young gymnast Harschit Damodharan has scripted history by winning gold in the Junior Men's Vault event at the Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships, becoming part of India's first-ever gold-silver finish in the competition alongside Akshat Bajaj.
Just a day earlier, he had also helped India secure a historic team bronze.
After topping the qualification rounds, Harschit rose to the occasion when it mattered most.
Behind this achievement are years of relentless training, discipline, and the guidance of coaches who believed in his potential.
From the practice hall to the continental podium, his journey is a reminder that champions are built one leap, one landing, and one determined day at a time.
Congratulations, Harschit!

Proud to see Warangal Warriors making headlines. This is more than a cricket team—it’s a platform for local talent, youth empowerment, and sporting excellence. The journey has just begun.

Her name is Vijayalakshmi. She is playing 'Gayathiri Veena" which was made by her father and it has only one string. She recently won a Guinness World Record for playing the Gayathiri Veena for 24 hours continuously. She played 64 songs at a time.
Surprising factor - she is blind.
Finally, my resignation from the IAP has been accepted, thankfully!
So far, I had to show some restraint before calling the leadership out for their pathetic slavery to pharma! Now, I am under no obligation to show that restraint! The IAP had such great presidents in the past and the organization has reached great heights because of many ethical leaders, but unfortunately for the past few years, it has been in the hands of the most unethical leaders who had prioritized pharma funding to child safety!!
I am glad to be out of it, at this point.
I wish @NMC_IND and the @MoHFW_INDIA looks into why for years, Johnson&Johnson/Kenvue was being allowed to put up it's stalls of ORSL in the PEDICONS inspite of me bringing it to the notice of the leadership multiple times, the dangerous deception of selling high sugar ORSL as ORS in schools, pharmacies, and hospitals. This needs thorough investigation!
The authorities also need to look into why parents were not warned about the risks of giving Sucralose containing drinks on a daily basis to children, and why only Sucralose was specifically mentioned in the following position paper released!
https://t.co/chddU4WOxQ
Authorities have to look into how a professional body of such stature allowed Kenvue to literally say it's scientific products were presented in PEDICON! There was absolutely no condemnation!
ALL THOSE IN THE STATE AND CENTRAL LEADERSHIP WHO I HAVE REACHED OUT TO, BUT CHOSE TO NOT REACH THIS DECEPTION OF ORSL TO THE @MoHFW_INDIA, ARE ANSWERABLE TO THOSE PARENTS WHOSE CHILDREN WERE HOSPTALIZED/DIED BECAUSE OF WORSENING OF DIARRHOEA DUE TO THE HIGH SUGAR ORSL WHICH WAS BEING SOLD AS ORS ACROSS INDIA!
Realized just now that it has not even been signed😅
So, is it even valid??!!
“To beard the lion in his den.”
The dictionary defines it as boldly confronting a powerful rival on their own turf.
For years, Norway Chess has been Magnus Carlsen’s den. His turf. His domain.
So I woke up to this news and my jaw dropped.
You didn’t just win a title, @rpraggnachess.
You walked into the lion’s den and emerged victorious
This title is important. Not because of the trophy, but because of your challenger spirit.
And that’s something all of us can learn from…
