I strongly condemn the brutal lynching of Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh.

As per the local media reports, Dipu was a young garment worker whose life was tragically cut short by mob violence over unproven allegations. No grievance, no matter how deeply felt, can ever justify vigilante justice.

When mobs override the rule of law, they do not deliver justice; they destroy the very foundation of a civilized society and put every citizen at risk.This heartbreaking incident raises profound questions: How do we allow rumors and outrage to escalate into irreversible tragedy? What does it say about us when human life is valued less than hasty retribution?

Let this tragedy serve as a wake-up call: true strength lies not in violence, but in restraint, dialogue, and the courage to build societies where no one fears for their life because of who they are.

We all must reaffirm our commitment to protecting every individual, regardless of faith or background, and to upholding due process and communal harmony.

May Dipu Chandra's departed soul rest in heaven.

This is the last known image of Bipin Joshi. A Hamas video filmed in November 2023, that they were planning to turn into one of their vile, psychological warfare propaganda hostage videos.

Last month, Hamas released a photograph of 48 hostages still held in Gaza, including Bipin, with the world to say "farewell

The bigger tragedy is not just Hamas' cruelty, but our own indifference. The world's indifference. While the world hears about the hostages from Israel, UK, America, and other countries, Bipin was forgotten. Because he is from a country nobody cares about. Nepal's government is in turmoil, characterised by instability. The government didn't have the resources for negotiations and lacks Middle Eastern geopolitical influence.

Ask yourself: Had Bipin been a Muslim youth from an Middle Eastern country, would the reaction have been the same? What if he was from Australia, New Zealand, China or Japan? We would know about him and governments would have raised hell to bring him home.

But Bipin is Hindu. His fate does not matter to Western elites who only find their voice when it suits their political narrative.
