Chaos in the Minnesota House and Senate to end the 2024 session. "There was zero debate on a bill that was more than 1400 pages. There was not even an opportunity to review the bill," House Minority Leader Lisa Demuth says in a statement. Democrats were facing a midnight deadline to pass their bills.
Bottom line: Minnesota is an expensive place to live and an expensive place to do business. The district I represent borders both North and South Dakota, and we see firsthand what Minnesota policies passed can do to businesses and families. Until we make our state business-friendly again, we will continue to see families and businesses move to other states.
Please read my recent editorial and let me know what you think! #mnleg
Goodbye, Minnesota. Unfortunately I hear these sentiments more often every day. I’m hoping todays political leaders pay attention before it’s too late. Not long ago, conservatives and liberals were content in MN,that is not the case today. https://t.co/0c7lJlFCiL
HAPPENING NOW: Senate and House DFL leaders say the final transportation finance bill will likely include BOTH an increase in gas tax indexed to inflation AND a delivery fee they now call a “road maintenance fee.” These taxes and fees will hit every Minnesotan.
ICYMI - Democrats removed from their Tax bill a provision to eliminate the sales tax on baby products.
They did this yesterday, on Mother's Day.
You can't make this stuff up.
Walz campaigned on "One Minnesota" but his record clearly shows an extreme agenda that goes against our way of life in northern Minnesota. Walz's anti-hunting record forced the @MinnesotaDeer into not participating in this fall's Governor's Deer Opener.

Minnesota is the 2nd highest taxed state in the country.
Our growth has become completely stagnant over the past four years, and it’s not going to get any better after this legislative session.
In case anyone was wondering why we are losing so many residents and AGI to Florida:
Biden is now going to force homebuyers with good credit to pay higher interest rates... to subsidize high-risk mortgage borrowers.
We are living during the worst Presidential Administration of our times.
From the Pope County, MN Sheriff's Office:
As has been reported, Deputy Josh Owen has served the Pope County Sheriff’s Office for nearly twelve years. The attached picture shows Deputy Owen with his beloved canine Karma.
Deputy Owen had a heart as big as his stature. He leaves behind a wife and a son. He loved his family, his brotherhood, and his community.
Yesterday, April 15, Pope County law enforcement lost a brother. Our sympathies and love are with Deputy Josh Owen's family, and the families of the other Deputies and Officers involved.
At this time, the investigation is still ongoing. The Pope County Sheriff’s Office is following all necessary protocols regarding this officer-involved shooting.
Our community partners, Glacial Ridge Hospital Staff and EMTs, all other public safety first-responders, near and far, that have assisted during this difficult time have our deepest gratitude.
The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension will release the other officers’ names and further details upon conclusion of their investigation.
At this time, we are asking everyone to respect the privacy of Deputy Owen’s family and all others involved.
We are unable to speak further on the active investigation.
All follow up questions should be directed to the BCA.
@AndySmithMN You are the prime example of what’s wrong with our government. You are out of touch with the current economy and what the people of Minnesota actually want and need. You won’t have a working class to tax when they move to other states.
@GovTimWalz You are literally spreading all of the 17.5 billion surplus and are planning to raise taxes by 2 billion. You are screwing the working class over
🔹️Spending entire surplus
🔹️Raising taxes, yours, not "the rich"
🔹️Creating new departments, offices
🔹️Increasing the budget by 40%
All with net negative migration, projected flat revenues, reduced discretionary income, and increased personal debt.
Everything's fine.
If we as citizens don’t pay our taxes we are thrown in prison but when the government unjustly steals from the people no one is punished. The DFL has done nothing for working class Minnesotans how do they plan to bring in tax revenue when the working class leaves?
There are 5,717,184 people in Minnesota.
If our $17 billion surplus was handed back to residents, everyone would get a roughly $3,000 check.
Instead, even with $3 billion (17%) planned for "tax relief," the state is trying to raise its budget by 29%.

Democratic Gov. Tim Walz and legislative leaders announced they have agreed to a spending framework that would increase the state's budget by nearly $17.9 billion over the next two years, seemingly using up all of Minnesota's surplus. https://t.co/tvy8a56OHU
We are absolutely devastated to announce legendary Minnesota Vikings head coach and Hall of Famer Bud Grant has passed away this morning at age 95.
We, like all Vikings and NFL fans, are shocked and saddened by this terrible news.
