On this heart-filled day, I’m sharing this drawing of mine that celebrates the importance of school libraries (complete, of course, with a well-funded, certified librarian!). I’m grateful I get to spend my day with PreK thru 4th graders in a school library in Grand Rapids, MI. 💛
I know the book bans have been heart-crushing on so many of us. But just reading the heartfelt words from so many kids, telling me how much they NEED stories that finally see them! 😭😭😭 Keep writing! Keep creating! Keep inspiring! #FinallySeen#WhatBookMakesYOUFeelFinallySeen

@jen_spisak I'm sorry that I couldn't join you all in "real time". I'm visiting my sister in Nashville and logged in an hour too late. Forgot about that pesky time change!
