Ukraine may have found a cheap way to give a drone extra range.
Let a balloon do the first 42 km.
ㅤ
Ukrainian troops reportedly tested launching the Ukrainian-American Hornet one-way attack drone from an aerostat. The balloon carried it 42 km and released it from 8 km altitude.
ㅤ
The drone used only about 5% of its battery before beginning its own flight.
ㅤ
The trick is simple: the balloon provides distance and altitude, while the drone keeps almost all of its battery for the real mission. If proven at scale, it could push Hornet’s estimated 100–150 km reach by another 1.5 to 2 times.
ㅤ
This is what Ukrainian defense innovation often looks like: clever ways to stretch what already exists.

NATO is not a threat to Russia. Russia is a threat to world peace. We would like to have nothing else but a peaceful relationship with Russia. We demand that Russia returns to adhering to international law and withdraws its troops from Ukraine.
STUBB: We are not going to return to normal relations with Russia. We all fully understand that. Look, Finland became a member of NATO because Russia attacked Ukraine. So there’s no going back to normal.
Ņemot vērā, ka pienāk ziņas, ka atsevišķās pilsētās bijuši atsevišķi gadījumi, kad atsevišķi kabeļoperatori nav atslēguši aizliegtos Krievijas kanālus, lūgums par šādiem gadijumiem nevilcinoties informēt mani personīgi. Piezvanīšu katram.

This should be on the front page of every newspaper in America.
A Syrian billionaire needed U.S. sanctions lifted so he could cash in on $12 billion in reconstruction contracts.
In an attempt to influence American foreign policy, he proposed a Trump-branded golf course, cut Jared Kushner & Ivanka Trump into a multibillion-dollar real estate deal for a resort in Albania, and had someone physically deliver a stone engraved with the Trump family crest to a Republican Member of Congress with instructions to take it to the White House to get the President's attention.
Trump threw his weight behind repealing the sanctions. They were lifted. The contracts are moving, the Trump family’s deals are expanding, and not a single Washington Republican is willing to say a word about any of it.
This is a corruption of everything the office of the presidency is supposed to stand for, and the American people deserve to know about it.

For years, Canada sent 70 cents of every defence dollar straight to the United States. Mark Carney just told Parliament that stops now. The room gave him a standing ovation.
It is a striking thing to get a standing ovation for announcing that your country will stop subsidising someone else’s arms industry. But that is where Canada is in 2025.
Carney’s case is blunt: the United States is “beginning to monetize its hegemony, charging for access to its markets and reducing its relative contributions to collective security.”

And MAGA is celebrating. Winning. Always winning. USA, USA. Somewhere a man in a red hat is pumping his fist.
Let me explain what is actually happening, because clearly no one has bothered.
In ten months, the United States has torched eighty years of alliance architecture that its own soldiers, diplomats and taxpayers built from the rubble of the Second World War. Eighty years. Gone. Detonated, with a smile, by people who genuinely believe this is genius.
Canada is not drifting away. Canada is leaving. Europe is not hedging. Europe is building a defence industry specifically designed to cut Washington out. Allies are not quietly grumbling over dinner. They are signing contracts with other people.
And the MAGA faithful are cheering every single step of it, because someone told them this is what dominance looks like.
It is not dominance. It is a man burning down his own house and whooping at the flames. The saddest part is not that America is losing its allies. The saddest part is that half the country thinks that is the point.

Impressive, very nice. Now tell me, Tom:
🇪🇺How many days of paid vacation do people in Mississippi get? Because in Europe, 20 working days is the standard.
🇪🇺How long of a paid maternity leave can a woman giving birth in Mississippi expect? Because in Europe, you can get more than a year of paid maternity leave.
🇪🇺Are free university studies available in Mississippi? Because in Europe, that’s basically the norm.
🇪🇺What does public transportation look like in Mississippi? Because in Europe, trains, buses, and trams are widespread, and in some places, even free.
🇪🇺What is the life expectancy at birth in Mississippi? Because in Europe it’s nearly 82 years.
I could go on, because we haven’t even touched on gun violence, income inequality, or food quality. But what I’m really trying to say is this: GDP doesn’t tell you much about quality of life. It’s a measure of production, not wellbeing.
If GDP doesn’t translate into a real improvement in the lives of the majority of society, it becomes an empty statistic. And boasting about it starts to resemble a boy at school bragging about how much his father earns, while conveniently leaving out that he never has time for him. In the end, money simply obscures what actually matters most in life.
Moscow supports Orban because he sabotages the European Union, blocks sanctions and money for Ukraine.
Ergo, he who supports Orban, helps Moscow.
It really is that simple.
KALLAS: Russia is trying to get those territories they haven't been able to conquer militarily in 12 years around the negotiation table. It's the Russian playbook of negotiations: they are demanding something that has never been theirs. This is a trap we should not fall into.
BREAKING: EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas confronted Marco Rubio at a G7 foreign ministers meeting Friday, pressing him on when the U.S. would get tougher on Russia, Axios reports.
Details:
During a Ukraine discussion, Kallas criticized the U.S. for not increasing pressure on Russia
She noted Rubio had said a year earlier that U.S. patience would run out if Russia blocked peace efforts.
“A year has passed and Russia hasn’t moved,” Kallas said.
“When is your patience going to run out?”
Sources say Rubio was visibly annoyed.
“We are doing the best we can to end the war. If you think you can do it better, go ahead. We will step aside,” he replied, raising his voice.
Kallas is obviously right. Vladimir Putin has rejected every ceasefire proposal and Donald Trump is still blocking serious sanctions on Russia and continuing to go after Zelensky, accusing him of being an obstacle to peace.

Iranian Women’s Soccer Players Withdraw Asylum Request !
Would anyone flee a dictatorship… then suddenly go back? I know their hostage diplomacy playbook very well.
The Iranian media now announced that Mona Hamoudi, Zahra Sarbali, and Zahra Meshkinkar, two players and a staff member of Iran’s women’s national football team, have withdrawn their asylum request in Australia and are heading back to Iran.
Right. Because women usually flee a dictatorship, they remove their for ed hijab and then suddenly decide to go back.
Let’s be clear,, it’s likely means their families are under threat, maybe detained. That is how the Islamic Republic operates.
Many of us Iranians know this playbook well. They used it on me. They imprisoned my brother Ali, for two years to try to silence me, believing that by holding my family hostage they could break my voice.
What stopped them was not their conscience. What helped was international attention and public pressure.
Look at the photos above. When Iranian women step outside the control of the Islamic Republic, even briefly, the first thing they do is remove the compulsory hijab. Freedom begins with the right to choose.
The Islamic Republic understands this. That is why it punishes women athletes, artists, and anyone who dares to live freely.
These women may be forced to return, but the world should understand why.

Orbán's election strategy: Blame Ukraine's president for EVERY Hungarian problem.
On April 12, 2026, parliamentary elections will be held in the country. The main battle will be between Orbán’s ruling party, Fidesz, and the opposition party, Tisza, led by Péter Magyar.
