@marktmaclean The behind-the-scenes of elections is a dizzying array of manual labour, paperwork, and double/triple failsafes. I'm always happy to chat more about the processes we do to keep elections secure- these are loooong days, but my absolute favourite days of the year :)

@marktmaclean It's even more hands-on- every night, record of voters is brought back to lxn cnd office, then manually counted + verified. Every ballot box sealed + signed x2 + serial no recorded. I've supervised lxns (prov + fed) for 5yrs and genuinely cannot think of a way to game the system!

A note of caution for admin:
Students aren’t upset at the prospect of classes going online.
Students are upset that you insisted that they must be here in-person, no matter the logistic difficulty or expense. This doesn’t override a desire for safety in our current contexts.

@MehranUBC Mehran, you might like the website Purple Air! It's a live-time, croud-sourced website about air quality, all fueled by the internet of things. There are currently five stations reporting around Kelowna, really interesting project that reports LOTS of data :)

@FirasM A plausible soln: sts run a Zoom, record the 'meeting', screenshare+narrate their work, save recording + submit. Pros: familiar peice of tech, designed to record voice + screen at the same time, fairly straightforward. Cons: assumes st tech/wifi can run a Zoom meeting
