ทรัมป์ กล่าวถ้อยแถลงนี้ในที่ประชุมสุดยอดนาโตในกรุงอังการา เมืองหลวงของตุรกี ภายหลังสหรัฐฯ และอิหร่านลงนามยุติการสู้รบ ยกเลิกการปิดล้อมทางทะเลของสหรัฐฯ ต่ออิหร่าน และเปิดช่องแคบฮอร์มุซ ประมาณ 3 สัปดาห์ โดยบอกว่า “ผมคิดว่ามันจบแล้ว ผมไม่อยากยุ่งเกี่ยวกับพวกนั้นอีกต่อไปแล้ว พวกนั้นเป็นพวกเลว ป่วยทางจิต ถูกนำโดยคนป่วยทางจิต และเป็นคนโหดร้ายรุนแรง และถ้ามีอาวุธนิวเคลียร์ พวกนั่นก็จะใช้มัน”

แม้จะกล่าวว่าการหยุดยิง "สิ้นสุดลงแล้ว" แต่ทรัมป์ก็ยังกล่าวอีกว่าผู้เจรจาของสหรัฐฯ จะได้รับอนุญาตให้เจรจากับคู่เจรจาฝ่ายอิหร่านต่อไปได้ แม้มองไม่เห็นความเป็นไปได้ ทั้งนี้ ทรัมป์ กล่าวว่า เขาไม่คิดว่าสงครามเต็มรูปแบบจะ "เริ่มต้นขึ้นอีกครั้ง"

The Artemis II crew had the rare chance to see a solar eclipse from space. 🚀🌘☀️

History in the making

In this new image from our @NASAArtemis II crew, you can see Orientale basin on the right edge of the lunar disk. This mission marks the first time the entire basin has been seen with human eyes.

Yesterday, as they became closer to the Moon than the Earth, Commander Reid Wiseman and Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen reflected on the feeling of the translunar injection burn. Rise, the zero-gravity indicator, hung out for the conversation as well.
