Introducing Teleport 2.0, a next-generation release for our 3D capture solution that sets a new benchmark in cloud-based Gaussian Splatting. Teleport 2.0 is all about lowering the barrier of entry to create and share lifelike 3D captures.
New capabilities include:
▪️ Upgraded 3D reconstruction engine: Preserves real-world detail, even in large-scale scenes that can be captured in minutes and automatically processed without manual steps.
▪️Support for any camera: Capture with phones, drones, professional cameras, or other imaging devices.
▪️ Tools for creating engaging immersive experiences: Build virtual tours, or link multiple scans together to build massive explorable digital twins.

You can get a 2 TB thumb drive and carry "AI" in your keychain. For reference, the english-language Wikipedia is a bit over 20 GB, and all languages combined maybe 10x that.
A large language model with a trillion parameters, trained on exabytes of data on a giant GPU cluster: a big deal, right?
1 parameter = 2 bytes
1T parameters = 2TB of data

Twitter has had a massive drop in revenue, due to activist groups pressuring advertisers, even though nothing has changed with content moderation and we did everything we could to appease the activists.
Extremely messed up! They’re trying to destroy free speech in America.
So @elonmusk is whining about losing a lot of money on Starlinks for Ukraine.
Meanwhile, may I present to you snippets of my bank statements.
Thousands of Ukrainians, paying his company monthly.
So the question is: did you really lose more money than you earned?
So, back in the day when television still could be tuned to a dead channel and you would see patterns in the noise... you were really just running an image generator in your head.
Diffusion models like #DALLE and #StableDiffusion are state of the art for image generation, yet our understanding of them is in its infancy. This thread introduces the basics of how diffusion models work, how we understand them, and why I think this understanding is broken.🧵
One of my favourite graphics bugs ever was a normalization error in a fixed-point skinning routine... The dog animation at hand still worked perfectly of course -- just very, very quantized. Too bad the Internet as we know it did not exist back then.
Jaan tällaisen, mielestäni tärkeän viestin: ”Eräällä nimettömällä keskustelufoorumilla minulle tuli vastaan henkilö, jonka pikkuveli ei melkein uskalla mennä kouluun, koska sattuu olemaan Venäläistä taustaa ja häntä kiusataan sen vuoksi. Tämä on asia, mitä ei saa tapahtua. ./..
Finished the first book in the Foundation trilogy over the weekend. Some thirty-five years since last time, so what a treat to discover it all over again!
@anttilip @Climatologist49 @meteorologit RuuviTag data from Tampere (both indoor & outdoor sensors). I wonder if this would have been perceptible outdoors -- in the sauna it went unnoticed. :-)
