#Ethiopia 🇪🇹 Ethiopian authorities released hundreds of political prisoners on September 10 after they completed “rehabilitation training” and signed pardon documents. However, journalists Gobeze Sisay, Meskerem Abera, Genet Asmamaw, Dawit Begashaw, and Abay Zewdu remain imprisoned because they refused to sign letters accepting responsibility for the conflict in the Amhara region, letters they consider self-incriminating.

The five journalists have been detained since 2023 on terrorism charges connected to their reporting. CPJ calls on Ethiopian authorities to release them immediately and unconditionally.

በአሜሪካ ዋና ከተማ ዋሽንግተን ዲሲ፣ በአማራ ሕዝብ ላይ እየተፈጸመ ያለውን የዘር ማጥፋት ወንጀል ለማውገዝ እና በአሁኑ ወቅት በኢትዮጵያ ሊካሄድ የታሰበውን የይስሙላ ምርጫ ለመቃወም የተጠራ ታላቅ ሰልፍ ዛሬ ግንቦት 6 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም (እንደ አውሮፓውያኑ አቆጣጠር ሜይ 14 ቀን 2026) እየተካሄደ ይገኛል።

የአማራ ማህበራት ከሌሎች ኢትዮጵያውያን ጋር በመተባበር ባዘጋጁት በዚህ ሰልፍ ላይ፣ ሰልፈኞቹ በአሜሪካ የውጭ ጉዳይ መስሪያ ቤት (US State Department) ፊት ለፊት በመገኘት ድምፃቸውን እያሰሙ ነው።

በስፍራው ከሚገኙ መረጃዎች መረዳት እንደሚቻለው፣ ሰልፈኞቹ "ሰላም በሌለበት ሕጋዊ ምርጫ ሊኖር አይችልም" እና "የጦርነት ቀጠናዎች የድምፅ መስጫ ቀጠናዎች አይደሉም" የሚሉ ጠንካራ መልዕክቶችን እያስተላለፉ ይገኛሉ። ሰልፉ በዋናነት በጦርነትና አለመረጋጋት ውስጥ ምርጫ ሊካሄድ እንደማይችል፣ ከምርጫው በፊት የጥይት ድምፅ መቆም እንዳለበትና ለ��ላም ቅድሚያ እንዲሰጥ ይጠይቃል።

በተጨማሪም ምርጫን ሽፋን በማድረግ በአማራ ሕዝብ ላይ እየተፈጸመ ያለው የዘር ማጥፋትና የደም መፋሰስ እንዲቆም፣ እንዲሁም ከድምፅ መስጠት በፊት የሰው ሕይወት ጥበቃ ቅድሚያ እንዲሰጠው ግፊት እየተደረገ ነው። ነጻነት በሌለበት ነጻ ምርጫ እንደማይኖርና ሕዝብ በጭቆና ሥር ሆኖ ድምፅ ሊሰጥ እንደማይችል ያሳሰቡት ሰልፈኞቹ፣ ለትክክለኛ ዴሞክራሲ የሽግግር ፍትሕ እንዲሰፍን፣ ከምርጫው በፊት መተማመን እንዲገነባና ለሀገር ቅድሚያ እንዲሰጥ ጥሪያቸውን አቅርበዋል።

"STOP AMHARA GENOCIDE!" (የአማራ የዘር ማጥፋት ይቁም!) የሚለው መሪ ቃል በጉልህ የሚታይበት ይህ ሰልፍ፣ በኢትዮጵያ ያለውን ወቅታዊ ቀውስ ለዓለም አቀፉ ማህበረሰብ ለማሳወቅና ፍትሕን ለመጠየቅ የታለመ መሆኑ ተገልጿል። በዋሽንግተን ዲሲ እየተካሄደ ያለውን የዚህን ሰልፍ ዝርዝር ሁኔ�� በቀጣይ የምናቀርብ ይሆናል።

በኢትዮጵያ በአማራ ሕዝብ ላይ እየተፈጸመ ያለውን ስልታዊ የዘር ማጥፋት ወንጀልና አገዛዙ ሊያካሂደው ያቀደውን የይስሙላ ምርጫ ለመቃወም በስዊድን መዲና ስቶክሆልም የተጀመረው ታላቅ ሰልፍ አሁንም በደመቀ ሁኔታ ቀጥሎ እንደሚገኝ ታውቋል።

በስዊድን የአማራ ማኅበራት አንድነት ግብረኃይል አማካኝነት የተጠራው ይህ ሰልፍ፣ ከቀኑ 13:00 (7:00 ሰዓት) ጀምሮ ከሁምሌ ጋርደን (Humlegården) በመነሳት በመቶዎች የሚቆጠሩ ኢትዮጵያውያንና የሰብአዊ መብት ተሟጋቾች በተገኙበት በታላቅ ድምቀት እየተከናወነ ይገኛል።

ሰልፈኞቹ “በዘር ማጥፋት መካከል ምርጫ የለም!” የሚሉ ጠንካራ መፈክሮችን በማንገብ የአብይ አህመድ አገዛዝ በሕዝብ ላይ የሚፈጽመውን ግፍ ለዓለም አቀፉ ማኅበረሰብ እያጋለጡ ነው። በተለይም በኢትዮጵያ ለሦስት ዓመታት የዘለቀው የዘር ማጥፋት ጦርነት በአስቸኳይ እንዲቆምና ዓለም አቀፉ ማኅበረሰብ በአገዛዙ ላይ የዲፕሎማሲ ጫና እንዲ���ሳድር ሰልፈኞቹ በጽኑ እየጠየቁ ይገኛሉ።

ሰልፉ አሁንም በስቶክሆልም ጎዳናዎች ላይ ቀጥሎ የሚገኝ ሲሆን፣ ወደ ኖራ ባንቶርጌት (Norra Bantorget) በማምራት ላይ ባለው በዚህ ታላቅ ሰልፍ ላይ ተሳታፊዎች የሀገራቸውን ሰንደቅ ዓላማና የትግሉን ዓላማ በማንገብ “ትግላችን እስከ ነጻነት ይቀጥላል” የሚል የጽናት ድምፅ እያሰሙ መሆኑን ከስፍራው የደረሰን መረጃ ያመለክታል።
