Pastors: An enormous number (majority?) of pastors (and especially professors) are very, very out of touch with normal people and families, ESPECIALLY blue collar people.
So, to reach and disciple those people you are going to need to do some things that “pastor world” finds cringe (not theologically, but in things like style, tone, often emphasis), and you will be chattered about.
There will be a couple moments (not in everything) when you’ll have to decide which matters more: Being in the “inside circle” of pastor-world or actually reaching and discipling real people with real jobs and real sins and real problems in a real culture.
Charles Spurgeon summarized this dynamic well when he was viciously attacked by other pastors and newspapers for his jokes in the pulpit, his “vulgar tone”, and his sort of blue collar speech:
"I am perhaps vulgar, but it is not intentional, save that I must and will make the people listen. My firm conviction is that we have had quite enough polite preachers, and many require a change. God has owned me among the most degraded and off-casts. Let others serve their class; these are mine, and to them I must keep."
— Charles Spurgeon
The House voted AGAINST attaching the SAVE AMERICA ACT to the NDAA today- an effort that would have attempted to help it finally be addressed in the Senate.
Does anybody feel like our own government just hates us?
You have no argument for any standard that doesn't ultimately boil down to
"I prefer x"
So, you have no argument against any of these things except "social consensus" or being incredulous.
When I was an atheist, seeking the truth, I discovered that really all you sell is a cover story for degeneracy.
It took 32 years (14 in adulthood) and a brief time in the Libertarian Party, but I found the place where the sidewalk ends.
Atheism is just a long story that enables people to do drugs, have sex, kill their babies, or just being generally self serving.
But it is not at all interested in the truth. It even says "this isn't a claim"
And the whole frame is wrong. Because, as it turns out, the truth is not a set of propositions.
The Truth is a person. Which makes sense if you really ponder the hints that are all over the place. Pi is a great one, unifying finite and infinite. Plenty abound, but you already know this.
And you still have time.
If you prefer to know the Truth, he's always waiting for you Michael.
Kind of ironic, you're named after an Archangel.
Fare well.
@ErikReed It is the best thing going.

Hey MLB:
There are no openly gay or trans players on any of the 30 baseball teams.
Can you please stop advocating for perversion and destruction of the nuclear family. Quit pandering. We’re all sick of it.
Sincerely,
America
This is how you do it.
The Xians of this generation will decide the societal inheritance we hand our children, grandchildren, and the future Church in America (and the ease/difficulty with which it can make disciples, build Christian famlies, and fulfill the Great Commission)
@TheAthletic@GrantBrisbee Whoopsie daisy, you said it backward.
The GIANTS made a night supposed to be about baseball about something else entirely: forcing Christians to publicly deny their 2,000-year-old convictions
@LeaderJohnThune How do I make an argument to elect Republicans to the Senate
when — as Senate Majority Leader — you are incapable of getting our majority to pass legislation?
What I'm finding amazing today on X is the sheer number of posts with scripture and repentance and love for God the father and Jesus Christ.
Ya'll kind of brought some hope to my life. Or, maybe that was God showing us that we're not alone and to never be scared to scream "Christ is King" from the mountain tops.
Be brave and "Don't be scared."
He says "I am the way, the truth, and the life."
Amen!
