For those who have spent months mocking Drury and NYR for extending Borgen for four years at $4.1M per, the Kings signed Cody Ceci today for four years at $4.5M per.
@Asnow119 @SinghHj39 @domluszczyszyn Yea that’s what Elliott said in the last 32 pod - makes sense both teams thought they could compete with the groups they had. Both teams bow out early. Now here we are lol
Roy is undoubtedly a good player - and it’s nice to get players for a UFA… but “solving their 3C issue” feels like not the lead story when removing a perennial 100pt player from their lineup. But what do I know I don’t got charts
@SinghHj39 @domluszczyszyn And by all accounts they tried - maybe too little too late - to send him to CAR and VGK (apparently for Theodore) but I would’ve been more aggressive with it too.
@domluszczyszyn Totally true and fair. And tidy work adding Maccelli too! I just think Marner leaves a bigger hole than some folks want to recognize. (Not saying that’s you)
@SinghHj39 @domluszczyszyn Some tidy work honestly. I just feel like “we know Marner is leaving” doesn’t make it OK that he did (even though you weren’t going to change that outcome) lol
@DynoDangle It’s so incredibly logical ESPECIALLY if you’re planning on drafting Schaefer (who can obv fill a Dobson gap+++)
Kyrou signed through ‘31 at an 8.125 cap hit.. with Dobson looking for 10+… idk man. Seems too easy!
@NewFiie@redandyellowca1@jpolly22 Not quite - impt to look at the year of the contract and their cap hit that specific season. Those factors change the total number of dollars. It accounts for salary cap changes year to year, and of course, a players specific AAV in the year they’re referencing on the chart.
