So while y’all are arguing about what UX is on Design Twitter and if UX designers should code, some of us are just out there doing this job. This level of navel gazing is beyond me sometimes.
.@udanium's "Rise of the Meta-Designer" is the most important thing I've read about design for quite a while. https://t.co/Gq9GUmSPWU If we don't want design reduced to mechanistic delivery, we need to widen the aperture with a holistic and systems-oriented practice.

When most companies hire "designers," it is to execute a previous decision, not to change it. Most businesses don't want designers to think. Perhaps this is why so many UX teams are prohibited from speaking with actual users.
I cherish taking leisurely strolls with my wife Jean at twilight. My steps are getting slower and increasingly I have another journey on my mind—the one into eternity. But the joy—the sheer, unadulterated joy—of a hand-in-hand , slow walk as evening shadows fall never ceases.
