I really didn't think $AAPL was going to go GA with these design decisions. The most ridiculous of them all is matching the corner radius of MacOS windows to the physical corner radius of an iPhone; linear-elastic theory doesn't apply to pixels. There are way better solutions.

Part of this is clearly stock grant correlated, a few outliers are cultural, but what's most fascinating is that you can actually feel the survey results through just using their respective products.

This is a pretty big fork in our timeline wrt $AAPL. The world was waiting, and expecting, that they would emerge as the leader in privacy-focused, on-device-only LLMs, but I imagine something to the effect of a basic sales query since the introduction of the M1 forced the decision to do off-device LLM because of low spec memory averages. This forced their on-device models down to a size that is currently non-competitive for many queries. It appears to be their only viable move in an "AI"-obsessed investorscape in order to support the entire active fleet while they up minimum specs for future hardware, make their own server class GPUs, and work on smaller, more effective models. Unfortunate compromises, but at least they are drawing a bright line when you cross the privacy boundary.

@elonmusk The fact that you used a capital *I* deserves a real reply. No, there is no single person that could fully describe it, but there are only 4 aspects that matter:
1. Interoperability (protocols)
2. Customs & Traditions (peering)
3. Business models (who pays)
4. Pipes (who owns)
