Missing man from #ColdLake: Cassius Charland (20 y/o) was last seen July 21 on his bicycle. He's 5'7, 120 lbs, has brown hair and brown eyes. Was wearing sweat pants and a t-shirt. RT?
My son went for a bike ride in Kananaskis today, but turned around when he said a Bobcat jumped in his way on the path. Here’s a picture of the Bobcat he described making a screeching noise 🤦♂️
Missing teenager in #ColdLake: Kara (Patti) Giesbrecht (15 y/o) from #Abbotsford, BC was reported missing June 3. She was last known to have taken a flight to #yeg and RCMP think she may be in the Cold Lake area. She's 5'2, 90-100 lbs, wears glasses and has braces. RT?
We’re sad to report thieves stole #AARCS’ animal transport van this morning at our Edmonton shelter. They also stole computers, tablets, petty cash and a credit card which they then used at a gas station northeast of #yeg.
We are heartbroken about this - we need this van!
It's day 6 of Accessibility Awareness Week! Today I'd like to woof about accessible transportation! Getting places with a disability can be difficult. Although there is accessible public transit, it's often less than ideal. But we recently had the opportunity to take part in the testing of a new light rail train car that our city will be using in the future! The difference was tremendous. On the trains currently in our city wheelchair users are supposed to park facing the doors they will use to exit. That means at every stop people are trying to get past us to get on or off. It's awkward and my paws can easily get stepped on.
The new prototype is lower so it's easier to get on and there's actually a spot for a wheelchair with room for a service dog or companion! Buttons are in accessible places and I even figured out how to open the door on the first try! The help button has audio and visual messages and the signs are easy to see!
We're super fortunate that we raised enough funds to buy an adapted vehicle. We need that as much of our life involves traveling outside of the city, but often finding parking where we can drop a ramp is really hard to find. We'll be able to take this train and feel much safer and comfortable which can make getting places in the city!
What was really important was that many people were invited to test this train car. Too often only one or two people with disabilities are asked for feedback and what might work for one person might be really difficult for another. I'm very happy our city is working towards making transit more accessible!

Danielle Smith set up a program that *deferred* electricity costs above a price ceiling and then piled them onto your bills later.
No, seriously. That's how bad it is.
And the @albertaNDP will fix it.
We will pay off the outstanding $180M in debt Smith added to your bills.
@EM_RESUS Hmmm - my mom was told yesterday by a nurse when she had a nose bleed during a visit to my dad (who is in hospital) that she should pinch the bridge of her nose and tilt her head back. Maybe they were looking for a new patient.
The Yellowhead Highway is now officially closed at RR 65 heading westbound. I’m told by RCMP they plan to close eastbound too, just need more resources for roadblocks. #yegtraffic#EntwistleFire
