@wizards_magic Swift action appreciated by the community, especially in light of weekend results. Unfortunately, this trend of endless, destabilizing, and demoralizing bans will continue until Wizards addresses core design/testing issues. Please acknowledge these underlying issues publicly.
@MTGSecretLair @SaffronOlive This is a terrible idea that is antithetical to both the vision of Secret Lairs and to the philosophy that got box toppers changed. There is already massive backlash to this announcement in a time where Wizards keeps exhausting its goodwill with players. Please correct course!!
Swift action in busted formats is good. Half measures are not. This change doesn't sufficiently address Standard's many issues. More Standard bans very likely; this is a Bridge --> Hogaak ban fiasco take two. Also, article needs explanation of why other cards weren't targeted.
Love the deck spotlights; highlighting this because it's my current deck of choice. Prospective Historic players: this is a sweet strategy that plays almost like a Legacy deck with endless synergies and tricks. Try it out!
As always, data projects like this are much appreciated. This helps players understand the format and know how to build and metagame decks. I strongly encourage @MTG_Arena , @MagicEsports , @wizards_magic , and other Wizards folks to publish this kind of data on their own sites.
@mtgaaron@wizards_magic@mtg_ianduke COVID obviously disrupted many plans, Magic/Modern and otherwise. At same time, Modern statement still overdue as even more formats (Historic and Pioneer chiefly) crowd mission space. Many multi-format B&Rs also keep impacting Modern. Any word on vision/mission statement update?
New article up. Modern had a rough 2019. It's time for @wizards_magic, @mtgaaron, @mtg_ianduke, and other Modern policymakers to update format mission/guidelines for 2020 and beyond:

@mtgazone Saw some of the T8 Historic Open lists on your site. Is there a direct link to more of them? Will we get a T8/T16+ dump later? Appreciate you all putting these on!
@MagicEsports As I and others noted before, humor for our work often a good thing. At same time, disappointing to often see so many joke/meme comments from various WOTC accounts and very few acknowledgments of severe multi-format design/balance issues. Silence on such issues is deafening.
@MagicEsports It's good to have humor about our work! At same time, also important to balance humor w real changes. Reclamation just 1 of literally dozen-plus egregious design/balance mistakes since 2019. Core Magic design principles must be changed. Bans also needed but root issues run deeper
@MTG_Arena@leveluplexie / MTGA team: tons of articles about how to optimize Jumpstart picks to fill collections. This creates weird pressures for players to pick what is optimal for collecting cards, not necessarily for playing fun JS games. True booster pack sales would relieve pressure.
@MTG_Arena Exciting update with lots of great features! A little confused about how we get a full set of all 500 Jumpstart cards without just crafting from WCs. Can you clarify how cards are added to collections after you select themes? How many unique new cards will I get each time?
@AlexisJanson Strongly agree. Roughly 60+/- multi-format bans in 2019-2020. More than in all of 2012-2018 combined (don't have exact stats in front of me: maybe even adding 2011!). Severe underlying playtest/design issues must be addressed to get to root of current Constructed Magic problems.
@MagicEsports Many community members clearly confused by apparent B&R decision inconsistencies. More regular format communication would help. Perhaps a monthly "State of the Format" briefing for all big formats? Also community would benefit from seeing more data behind the B&R decision curtain
@TruedawnFm This is particularly problematic because players can't even access/track these numbers like Wizards. We lack the data because they deliberately hide it. Result = dissatisfied players, opaque management, and appearance/reality of inconsistent decision.
@MTG_Arena Exciting event and great opportunity to showcase format! At same time, BO1 remains a VERY inappropriate and high variance way to play game at this high level. BO3 better for players who want richer matches and even viewers who want the same. Please stop using BO1 for big events.
@AGrixisMage @T1Thoughtseize Laughable accusation. I made about 40 Tweets since late May. Only one of those criticized Pioneer (posted yesterday) until you debated me on that post. It is clear you have some axe to grind against me, especially in recent Tweets. Happy to resume debate when you tone it down.
@AGrixisMage @T1Thoughtseize Extremely out of context. Acknowledged bans as helping Pioneer about 2 hours later in separate Tweet (https://t.co/5zkguwUO98). Disappointed you are trying to win little nitpick battles on limited Twitter medium by misrepresentation. Happy to debate on better platform.
@AGrixisMage @T1Thoughtseize All known metrics, particularly multiple challenges not firing, point to major format issues. When format comes to Arena, things will improve. Bannings could also address lost confidence. Until one/both of these things happen, Pioneer will continue to flounder.
