No serious college football fans still think it wasn’t USC who ran away from Notre Dame, right?
Lincoln Riley and Jen Cohen were staring down the barrel of another 5-6 win season and desperately ran away from Notre Dame in an attempt to save their jobs.
Unfortunately, it will not work! Spineless cowards don’t win in college football!
@NicoleAuerbach Good summary of the problem. The whole process calls into question whether I want to invest my time in the playoffs at all. I am just disgusted by how this all went down.
The way the College Football season shaped up, the CFP Committee had an opportunity to do the most right thing with the smallest backlash.
Alabama and BYU getting blown out in their conference championship games opened the door to put both Notre Dame and Miami in.
Instead they dropped the ball and punished BYU for losing, didn’t punish Alabama for losing and then flipped Notre Dame and Miami despite neither of them playing a game.
None of it makes sense.
They did the thing that would give them the most backlash just to have 5 SEC teams in the playoff.
That makes everyone question the integrity of the process and rightfully so.
The only team in the field to play a tougher schedule than Texas, per ESPN's SOS metric, was Alabama.
Only five members of the field played top-25 SOS schedules.
Doesn't pay to schedule tough anymore.
