Here I am in 2020 in the flimsiest, most pitful PPE - like so many other NHS staff, some of whom died from the Covid they caught in their hospitals.
Tory peer @MichelleMone - who today rightly (& wonderfully) lost her legal case - dares to claim she’s been ‘scapegoated’.
What, Michelle?
For the £122 million you pocketed from taxpayers for delivering unusable PPE – at least £65 million of which went straight into your venal husband’s offshore accounts in the Isle of Man?
For being one of a small minority of corrupt grifters who saw a global pandemic as nothing more than a chance to get rich quick?
For caring more about lining your own pockets than the deaths of NHS staff & patients?
For being disgustingly cynical & avaracious - unlike all those millions of ordinary, decent Britons across the country who stepped up with such courage & decency?
I was given masks whose ear loops fell off & aprons so flimsy they ripped apart when you tried to put them on, Michelle.
Nurses and porters in our hospital died from the Covid they caught there, Michelle.
How dare you try to bleat victimisation now, Michelle?
You are the polar opposite of the values that should govern public life.
Repay what you owe & get your dishonourable form as far away from the House of Lords as possible.
@BBCPolitics I don’t give two shiny shits what Farage thinks. Stop giving this racist grifter a platform for goodness sake. How about what does Ed Davey think about the state of the economy? What’s happening with the Green Party? How are the SNP doing?
Everybody remembers that seminal moment in WW2 with FDR in his wheelchair rolling out the red carpet for Hitler discussing which portions of France he will get in exchange for peace.
Don't scroll past! We need a tiny favour that's 100% free, easy, and only takes a moment. Could you please share this post?
Carmen has been waiting at our shelter for over three hundred days now. That's nearly a whole year of watching her friends, many of whom arrived after she did, find loving homes, while patiently hoping for her own Happily Furever After.
If you're someone who lives for the outdoors and wants a fun, happy, adventure-loving companion, Carmen's your girl! She's bursting with energy and loves everything from hiking and running to exploring new places and splashing through streams. She's also a bundle of infectious energy and enthusiasm, so even when you're on the toughest trails, she's sure to keep you smiling.
We know her perfect adventure buddy is out there somewhere. They just haven't found each other yet. Let's change that.

We are deeply angered by the @BBCNews article published this morning, which unfairly lumps responsible foreign rescues like ours in with unethical operators. It is lazy, damaging journalism to paint us all with the same brush.
At Street Hearts BG, we follow all legal import protocols. Our dogs are fully health-checked, vaccinated, and tested for Brucellosis, Leishmaniasis, and tick-borne diseases. We never rehome aggressive dogs, dogs with a bite history, or those unfit for family life. Every dog has lived in a home setting and is lead trained, crate settled, and socialised.
We support dogs in Bulgaria and the UK, providing lifetime rescue backup and behavioural support. We offer pre- and post-adoption care, including online training and two funded sessions with our trainer. Our adopters are never left unsupported.
We run a thorough, in-depth adoption process to match the right dog with the right home. If someone applies for a dog and their home or experience isn't suitable, we say no. We will always prioritise the needs of our dogs over quick adoptions.
In Bulgaria, we run a free neutering programme, community outreach, and dog welfare education. Our unique shelter focuses on enrichment, rest, and daily off-lead pack walks on one hundred acres of leased land. Dogs we cannot rehome remain as beloved sanctuary dogs.
We have witnessed dog smuggling and repeatedly offered intel to MPs and regulators. Nothing changes. Not once have we seen a @DefraGovUK representative at the Channel Tunnel. Why not? Put someone there, and you'll see what we see.
We invite the BBC and the article's authors, @stanchers, Victoria Archer, and @Al_Haslam, to contact us directly. We will gladly show you how a professional, transparent foreign rescue operates.

I am so tired….
People like me speak out because children are dying
Not Israeli children
Not Palestinian children
Just children. Innocent. Terrified. Gone.
We’re not politicians. We don’t have power
We’re just doing our best to call out a genocide
This isn’t about “taking sides”
It’s about taking a stand for humanity and for the basic principle that no child should be bombed, burned alive or starved
So when we speak out and are met with accusations of antisemitism, and
when our grief is twisted, our intent questioned, and when we are called terrorist sympathisers because we can’t bear to see another lifeless little body
It’s not just offensive
It’s f*cking depressing
We’re not driven by hate
We’re driven by horror
And we’re using the only tools we have - our words, our platforms, and our refusal to look away
Because if we don’t speak now,
we become the silence that history will condemn.
russia quite literally sent 472 Shahed drones (a new record) into Ukraine the night before their war planes went boom, but somehow that means they wanted peace according to some braindead individuals on here.
Demanding an end to the killing of children in Gaza does not make you antisemitic. It does not make you a supporter of Hamas. It simply makes you human.
Don't be silent.
Don't be complicit.
Demand an end to the bloodshed and blockade of Gaza.
I don't know how many care workers follow me, but to any that do can I say thank you. Whether you were born in the UK or recruited from abroad, the important work you do is appreciated by millions of people across the country. Politicians shouldn't be afraid to say that.
If anyone doubts Farage’s endless ability to shift and reshape the contours of British politics, I’d invite them to watch Keir Starmer’s speech today or read the accompanying documents. There has to be a policy response to address voters profound and real anxieties. But in ceding the intellectual ground so absolutely to his opponents and setting himself and the government up for likely failure, the risk for the PM is that he may well empower Farage even further. We’ve seen this story before.
This is hard to say but, right now, we're struggling.
Our May adoption trip is just around the corner and only one dog, Piper, has been reserved so far. Just one. It's extremely worrying.
Every dog in our care deserves a home but, until that happens, they rely on us - and we rely on you. Once again, we need your help. Here's what you can do to support us and our dogs:
1. Share our posts: When you see us post an adoptable dog, please, share that post. Help us spread the word.
2. Sponsor a dog: If adopting a dog isn't possible right now, consider sponsoring one. It's just £20 per month. Almost every dog without a sponsor is now listed on our website, with more being added very soon. Your sponsorship covers food, vet bills, and helps us to care for each dog until their furever family comes along. Visit the 'Sponsor a Dog' section of our website (https://t.co/EGGSawWzaE) to choose who you'd like to support.
One share. One sponsor. That's all it takes. Together, we can turn this around.

What we’re witnessing in #Gaza is the weaponisation of starvation; with an ongoing blockade of food, water, medicines and aid entering Gaza now into its second month … not to mention the further 15 aid workers killed and found in a mass grave … this must stop!
