What has been happening in the skies over the past few days is horrific – Putin is doing this ahead of his elections. He is stepping up his strikes, terrorizing our children day and night. This is a new tactic, and we will respond in kind until the terror ends and Russia’s war ends.

Today, we have about 60 companies in Ukraine already working to shoot down jet-powered drones. We are now looking to mass-produce these capabilities. But this is defense, and it is Plan B. Plan A is to accelerate diplomatic efforts as much as possible to de-escalate the situation.

The issue of Donbas is not just about Donbas – it is about this war. A war for survival and a war of attrition. And it is about territory, which is what the Russian side is after.

We have grown stronger on the battlefield, in the east, where the enemy is active and has increased its number of troops. And I believe that after the elections in Russia, there will be a mobilization exclusively for this sector. Many geopolitical issues are being decided there. And our guys are doing a great job by giving diplomacy a chance. Without a strong position on the battlefield, there will be nothing but ultimatums. And today, diplomacy is possible.

Three people, including an 11-year-old boy, were killed in a Russian drone strike on Chuhuiv in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region.

The attack hit a private home, killing the child, a 19-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man.

The house, an outbuilding and a garage were destroyed, and a fire broke out at the scene.

Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, said Ukraine is already living in a reality that much of Europe is still unprepared for: hundreds of Shahed drones a day, with missile strikes involving dozens of weapons coming in from multiple directions in between.

According to him, no economy in the world could sustain trying to shoot down such a volume using only conventional air-defense systems.

“Kyiv in three days is never going to happen. But I’m not sure the Baltics wouldn’t fall in a day,” Madyar said.

He called drones the main threat: “Drones are the real plague of the third millennium. No exaggeration. The math proves it.”

And his main conclusion was even harsher: “NATO partner countries are seriously overestimating their own readiness to withstand drone warfare.”
