The Tamilnadu Government order that permitted individuals who converted to Islam from other reserved categories (BC,MBC,DNC&SC) to claim Backward Class Muslim (BCM) reservation status was struck down by the Madras High Court.The Court ruled that conversion doesn't automatically grant a person membership to birthbased Muslim communities.But instead of implementing the Court order the @TVKVijay Government has unwarrantedly moved the Supreme Court of India to challenge the this ruling arguing that converting to Islam doesn't erase the social and educational
disadvantages. It is nothing but naked appeasement of
minorities for vote bank politics. TVK Government should realise that DMK was voted out of power mainly because of minority appeasement.
