North Carolina has received a commitment from Scott Doran, a right-handed pitcher from Coastal Carolina.
Last season for the Chanticleers, Doran made 12 appearances (two starts), going 4-2 with a 4.76 ERA, and striking out 39 batters (12.4 SO9).
Laughable, man.
“Hey, kid. Can you play third? Actually, second? Actually, go back to short. Also, we hate you. You’re 23 and we don’t have much veteran leadership but we’re going to single you out instead when you’ve been one of the most available players this year.”
i, too, would probably be withdrawn as a rookie if i was on the worst team in the league, had to switch to the hardest position midway through the season, lost my bff to injury, was fighting through several injuries myself, & was getting ripped on online for having a girlfriend
The Red Sox had a real chance to sweep a series against the worst team in baseball and they’re about to lose two of three. And you’ve got the CBO saying there’s still plenty of season left and they’ve just gotta get on a run. This team fucking BLOWS and will never go on a run.
A few things are true:
1. We probably overestimated how good Marcelo would be at SS right away.
2. It made no sense to not have him take reps at the position this spring.
3. He’s been banged up and has battled an illness lately.
Very, very costly error.
I have been a Carolina fan since birth and have watched a lot of teams over the years. This team was special. I wanted this so badly for them. The baseball gods can be cruel sometimes. I hope they know how proud we all are of them! #GoHeels
Craig Breslow on potentially selling players with control beyond this season, via @timbhealey:
“We’re still not at a point where that decision is clear… Because like I said, we’ve got a lot of baseball games to play between now and then, and we’re going to do everything we can to get the ship righted for 2026.”
