Fantastic paper! Serotonin is stored in platelets (largest stores outside brain). We have noted significant platelet damage in LC. Damaged platelets will definitely not be able to carry serotonin! @dbkell@doctorasadkhan

I dont think people realize how much discipline living w #LongCovid takes, especially if you were previously a go-getter type. We have to constantly stop ourselves and say no to things we want to do, because they will make our symptoms worse. We have to miss out on life to live.
Today is International #LongCovidAwarenessDay
Thinking of those who are suffering with #LongCovid. 🙏🏽
I both care for people with Long COVID & live with the effects of it myself.
Mine is thankfully mild, but I’m still not 100%. As a physician, I still get gate-kept & gaslit.

Thrilled to share this Comment in @TheLancetInfDis that I coauthored with the amazing @PutrinoLab on “Why we need a deeper understanding of the pathophysiology of long COVID”. Sharing an accessible document here. Thank you for reading and sharing 🙏🏼

Grateful for his support of #LongCovid

I wrote a guide on how to find help for #longCOVID in #NYC for @THECITYNY's MISSING THEM project. It’s packed with advice from New Yorkers + clinicians on talking with medical providers, joining support groups, finding joy on difficult days + more. 1/ https://t.co/9reInq0IUq
Every morning I wake up and wish I felt the way I did before I got ill.
Every single morning.
#longcovid is like a prison sentence without a term.
You slowly get used to living within its restrictions. You do your best to stay positive. But you constantly dream of escaping.
