It has now emerged that Nalitex Limited, the company awarded the tender to supply Kenya's new police uniforms, was registered in May 2024 with Selpha Chesimi Temoi as its sole director and shareholder, while its registered phone number has been linked to accountant Charles Tela Alusala, a financial contact for companies associated with First Lady Rachel Ruto and President William Ruto's daughter, Charlene Ruto.
Seven days ago, I called on President William Ruto to discharge his constitutional and administrative duty to release the report of the National Taskforce on Police Reforms, which I submitted to him on 16 November 2023.
That call remains unanswered.
The President had before him the historic occasion of Katiba Day to release this report and set in motion its implementation. He let the moment pass.
I now have the solemn responsibility to make the report public. I am in the final stages of consultation with various stakeholders and shall communicate the next steps in due course.
Kenya deserves police institutions that serve and protect her people.

"Kenyans have a right to recall MPs, not one MP has been recalled because the parliament made it so difficult for MPs to be recalled!"~Abdikadir Mohamed infront of Ruto
" We took loans to get houses,"- Tears and outrage at the New Mukuru Affordable Housing Estate as hundreds of local applicants find themselves locked out of the newly launched units.Despite registering via Boma Yangu, residents allege their promised houses have been "sold out" to outsiders.
Dear President Ruto: With due respect your excellency, you are fatally wrong on this.
🌻The real question was never how much more tax Kenyans should pay, or how much more the country should borrow. No.
🌻The real question is: how wasteful are we?
🌻You increase State House expenditure by over 500% and turn it into a venue for political rallies — and then ask ordinary Kenyans to foot the bill through higher taxes and heavier debt?
🌻Education is a basic right: Why should university education be funded outside the exchequer?
🌻Cut the waste before you cut into people’s pockets. Kenyans are not the problem. Reckless spending is #KatibaAt16
Respect to Eric Latiff for asking Ruto the real question.
You cannot preach the Constitutionalism while running a Cabinet the High Court has already declared unconstitutional. “Work in progress” is not compliance.
There on Citizen TV, Yvonne Okwara is wondering how President Ruto has changed himself from the events of June 2024 to now.
Buana, Yvonne has played clips from 2024 where the president ordered police to shoot protesters in the legs, with MP Nelson Koech supporting him.
It is quite interesting to hear the same person today saying the very youths he was blasting were exercising their democratic rights.
You can’t make this stuff up, jameni.
Yvonne: The president seemed to intimate that he had sought out Uhuru Kenyatta to try and lead the country’s conversation around the future. That is interesting because he has spent quite a few years of his administration saying how he is fixing the messes that were put in place by the former president. He has pinned a lot of the country’s problems today to the reign of President Uhuru Kenyatta at the time. Yet this is the same person he said he wanted to lead the conversation about the future of our country? Make it make sense #CitizenNewsGang @YvonneOkwara
