Elad Gil and Jared Kushner (Co-founders, Brain Co.) joined @saranormous on @NoPriorsPod to share the vision for Brain Co.:
"The goal was to create a frontier AI implementation company working with top clients in the most impactful institutions and companies in the world."
"We couldn't find great solution providers for our portfolio. Elad in the way he does, says, well, let's start a company to do it."
"Brain Co. has a common platform underlying it with a common set of things provided to every customer, with incremental solutions built on top of it that can be cross-sold into different verticals."
Brain Co. is building an AI platform and products for the world’s most important large institutions. @eladgil@jaredkushner
Brain Co. emerges from stealth today and we are announcing our $30M Series A financing led by @eladgil and @jaredkushner’s Affinity Partners.
Brain Co. provides an AI platform and applications for the world’s largest and most important institutions – enterprises across healthcare, energy, retail, and other sectors, key governmental services, and other major organizations.
@mike_petriello@mike_petriello Is the runs prevented stat game-state dependent? I would've assumed as OAA goes up, so would the runs prevented, but this clearly isn't linear. Love the work you do btw :)
@DownToBlack Haha - just briefly looked into things and two things you could potentially look into that are related are his LOB% (83% is p insane) and his quality of contact - didn't realize he was so good at suppressing HH balls! Having 4 above avg to elite pitches will do that though
@MitchBannon xBA doesn't take into account how far the fielder has to travel in its calculation. I remember they use to also release a "star" rating for catches to take that into account, but I think that that's now non-public
@Brett_Phillips8@KJS_4@ExpansionPunks Haha, that's awesome! I have to think that your hertz would be better maximized in a nuclear wasteland though 🤷. Good luck for the off-season and the coming year (though only when you're not playing the jays) 😀
@TalkinBaseball_ This is super interesting - given the AAV + term being so similar to Gausman, it seems like the Jays thought that Gausman + the pick were more valuable than Ray.
